Hey.. ok well Im new on this forum thing so bare with me...
I saw how my boyfriend has gotten alot of connections through forums and help to advance himself so I wanted to give it a try. I really want to learn how to get better at wakeboarding but its kinda hard to find opportunities to do that. I ride whenever i can but thats whenever someones willing to take me... and theres no wake at cable parks plus costly for the drive. it kind of embarassing to ask guys for help because they dont take me too seriously... so any suggestions? Im not that bad... i landed a w2w 180, i try the blind side and ive attempted a tantrum [def. needs perfecting haha]... um pop 180's, surface 360 butterslides, clear the wake..
sorry it was so long.. but any suggestions?? |

What part of miami are you in?
Just keep asking for rides (remember to give gas money and bring drinks and/or food so they invite you back), have someone videotape you riding so you can see what you're doing wrong. And if the crew you ride with don't want to give you any pointers for you to advance, I think you're riding with the wrong crew! Or maybe just ask them to tell you what you're doing wrong. I have to practically beg my boyfriend to tell me what Im doing wrong, cause he doesnt want to tell me because he thinks i might get mad at him.
Oh, and you're not bad at all! You're out there, trying to advance and thats always good! _________________ http://www.miamiskinautique.com

I live in the cutler ridge area... its kinda close to homestead but not too far away from anything else.
Yeh I aaalllwaysss offer gas money and Im usualy very generous with it. My boyfriend helps me alot, infact if it werent for him i'd probably not be as good as i am (not saying im good, u know what i mean). but I cant really depend on any one for rides like the guys can. When a girl wants to go, its different than when a guy does. U kno what i mean? lol. I dont have any friends that ride and are girls... well that r into it i mean. Anyways Im going to ski rixen today hopefully if i dont have to work. that place is pretty awesome for a cable park |

As Criswb suggested, videoing yourself is the best. Not to talk about getting a wakeboarding buddy, getting a spotter/ cameraman is even more difficult (at least I get sea sick so I pay my 9 yr old son).
Anyways, there is an AIRtrakker (there is a thread on this forum), that you can buy to hook your video onto the tower to self tape (not cheap though $150 and up). I'm planning to give that as a xmas gift to myself. |

I live on the northwestern part of the state. This time of year we are reaching highs of over 100 every day. The lake water is 80 degrees so playing in the water is great right now.
It doesn't get REAL cold until October. But then the water turns to ice and I play hockey on that. _________________ My other water preference is "frozen". |

cadence_131, I have the same prob as you... I don't own a boat, so I depend on other people to ride... it sucks because you want to go riding every day to progress but you can't... Luckily you have that cable park.. I'm a member of my country's Waterski federation and they have a boat, not the best wakeboard boat, an old tristar with no weight, but I try to ride there twice a week. Try some off water training as well... like the tramp or balance board, that ought to help you.
Are you going to check out the PanAms this year? I hear they're going to be in Key Biscayne I think... _________________ http://www.miamiskinautique.com
