Last week I was finally able to land HS W2W jumps consistently and it felt so smooth! I am trying to work on a good progressive edge and standing tall but I could use some tips on getting more pop on my HS jumps and taking my TS W2W. Any comments would be appreciated! Thanks!

You start out really well and then flatten off just before you get to the wake losing all your line tension and getting no pop. You want to stay leaning against the line like you are in the first pic keeping the load then stand tall when you're going through the wake (still keeping the tension).

fergie23, cut out further to give yourself more time to time your pop. In the two pictures above, try swapping them so that you have a slight edge at first and then a huge spray like pic#1 right at the wake. You look pretty comfortable on the board overall though. BTW, you friends with Tito Ortiz?

Actually I'd recommend taking a shorter cut, he has loads of time... he just needs to keep his line tension strong.

I was just trying to illustrate my point that he was doing it backwards.

So, ontrider, basically take a shorter cut so I am still on edge with line tension like in the first picture when I hit the wake?

Also, jpminter, I understand the swap of #1 and #2--same reason so I am on edge at the wake instead of flattening back out. Also, no I don't know Tito (the Ultimate FIgher, I think? although my friend's hair kind of looks like his!!!)

I was really trying to work on building a progresive edge and thought I was holding the edge until I saw the video. I will continue to work on this!

fergie23, you don't necessarily have to take a shorter cut, but for a lot of people it's easier to learn how to 'pop' taking a cut from about 5 feet. Then when you get the feel of it you can start out wider and time it right with proper edging. Your main problem though is the total loss of line tension. When you're edging through the wake you want that line to be tight, when it releases the tension, that's what shoots you up in the air.

And stay on edge, build that tension....then BANG!! Mega Pop!

Tito isn't THE Ultimate Fighter, but he did coach on that show and he fights in the UFC. He's from your town that's why I was asking.

Load the rope (aka keep pulling against the boat) You'll get way more pop once you do it right
