Hey,
Since I ride behind an I/O that doesn't put out the greatest wake, I feel like I'm not getting anywhere as a wakeboarder. I'm thinking about getting some ballast sacks to see if I can fatten up the wake a bit.
Here is my question:
Would I be better of wakeskating with a not-so-great wake, or should I, indeed, invest in some fat sacs so I can do more with a wakeboard? |

| Add some ballast and do both wakeboarding and wakeskating on your newly created wake. Have you adjusted the pitch or does it not make much of a difference? |

The last time I went out I messed around with the pitch a little. It didn't seem to make that much of a difference.
My problem with tweaking the wake is that I don't know the first thing about how to weight the boat. Is there a website or something that has some tips on that? |

The further Back your weight is, the steeper and peakier your wake gets. Fat Sacs in the Middle or rear of your boat will get you the biggest gains in the size of your wake. Weighting the front might even make your wake smaller. Unfortunately, putting all your weight in the back kills your accelleration out of the hole and your fuel mileage. But I/O's aren't that bad of a wakeboard platform, because all the weight of the engine is in the back, and you can adjust the trim to push the rear of the boat even deeper into the water. _________________
