LOL thats kinda scary. Glad you only had a minor concussion and not one more serious. Hopefully you wont have to do that anymore. I havent even tried a w2w yet. I am still working on the one wake jumps. I did my first ts wake jump but didnt land it. I get to go out again tonight so maybe I can practice some more.

Hey devilfogavtr congrats on getting up on the first try and already doing surface tricks. Toeside is very weird. Its hard to explain on here but if you can find someone to show you the proper stance it will make your life so much easier. I suggest going out toeside often and as soon as you can get over the wake try to just work on carving in the flats cuting toeside out away from the wake and then back to the wake without crossing it. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I got up on the first try and then just cut out on my heelside edge and stood there, when the boat turned I got back in the center, but I couldnt go out on my ts edge the first day. Loved it from the start!

Wakeboarded first time this week (thursday). Got up on first try - I actually expected to use the whole day Mr. Green Was just standing up trying to keep my balance. On monday (yesterday) I tried to Ollie but that didn't go very well, tryed 180's on the water but faceplanted ha ha Working on the heelside and toeside wake jump. The heelside is the easiest one. Think I did pretty good for me being. To be honest I had to check out the glossary here on wakeboard.com to learn the expressions and words and stuff ha ha -> norwegian.

First time out (a few weeks ago) stood up first try - and quickly fell. I wasn't sure what to do with my hips. My friend teaching would only tell me one step at a time. So by the third time up I was able to get in and out of the wake both HS and TS and kind of turn in the wake.

Now working on progressive edging and getting comfortable with getting air off the wake. Hoping to be W2W by the end of the summer.

Well, the first time I ever tried to wakeboard, I had only ever skiied and it took me three times to get up. I don't remember if I did anything or not. Probably just rode behind the boat. Doubt I tried to cross the wake.

Then I took up snowboarding and didn't get out on the lake for a few years. Couple years ago, I bought a wakeboard and got up on it no problem. Crossed the wake and started to try little jumps.

On my first try, last July it took me about 5 tries beofre I got up, and during that summer I mastered carving inside the wake and one wake jumps. I was on my brother's board which was WAYYY too big for me so it was hard. But this year I bought my own board and now I can do grabds, and I'm trying for W2W jumps. But with my family's 21 year old boat with a small, crappy wake, I don't know if it will happen, but I'm still going to try.

Two of my close guy friends invited me to the lake to try it. First time out it took me 6 tries to get up...but if you don't count the first 4 due to the driver taking off too fast for my weight..(they were used to pulling each other...about 40 pounds heavier than me)...once they let up it took 2 tries. I just rode around the lake on the heel side. Fourth of July I got to go again but the water was just too choppy to try much of anything new...stupid speedboats...lol. However, on my last try I hit some of the chop and managed to switch my stance:) yeah for me!! Razz

I had no idea what I was doing. Nobody on the boat had any idea how to wakeboard. I just jumped into the lake and hoped that something worked. Haha. But nothing did, really. I had the board to the side, not horizontal to the boat. I didn't bring my knees to my chest. It was a mess. The boat pretty much dragged me around in the water as I clung onto the handle. The board went under me a couple times too and was dragging behind me as I was being pulled. It was fun, nonetheless.
