Rode a Hyperlite Motive 144 over the weekend and loved the feel. I like the light weight and slick feel on the water. I am pretty new to the sport, can do small jumps and a surface 180 now and then. Shooting for w2w for the last several weeks.

Any suggestions on where to get this board at a good price or recomendations on comparable boards and a nice set of bindings for a size 10+?

I am 5'11 pushing 190 lbs - would the 144 be the best setup?

Any help appreciated.

-drek

I just started riding at the beginning of July. I bought a Motive 140 w/State bindings. I think it's a great beginner setup. I'm buying smaller fins to see what that's like. Go for it.

Sounds like the Motive is a good board MJ, now you just have to decide on size. The 144 will give you more pop, but more swing weight. The 140, vise versa.

I forgot to mention how much slicker the Fish was when I took off the fins.
