I've been riding for while and would like to buy an instructional DVD.
Which one should I buy? Detention? Higher Education? or Waketrix?

IMHO, "The Book," period. Get the appropriate volume and you'll be all set.

"The Book" costs like 100 dollars, go w/ Waketrix, $30, one disc, goes fro getting up all the way to inverts, spins, even raleys and invert 180's

Higher education is just like the book, same instructors and some very similar technique. The book goes into more detail though.

Watetrix is quite good too.

Remember you don't need to get the entire series of the book.
If you can get out of the water then the second disc will probably be more than enough to help you progress for the rest of the season.

My vote is for "The Book" I got it off ebay for $70 its 5 cds and it breaks the tricks down very basic. Try it out for free here. http://thebookdvd.com/freedvd
I feel like a promoter for them as much as I am talking them up, but it really helped me alot.

Hey, thanks for all of the kind words on "The Book". I just started a profile here, so hopefully I'll be able to help you guys out with any questions/instruction or whatever.

I have to bite my tongue on this one... I'd love to give my two cents about The Book, and the other instructional DVDs, but I don't think this forum is the right place to do it (since I was one of the creators of The Book). Wakeboarder.com has given The Book a great review. I'm sure you can learn a lot about it there. We've submitted the new Wakeskate version to wakeboarder.com as well, so maybe in the future they will review that one for you guys too.

I just started wakeboarding this year and the last few weeks I was maybe getting 1ft off of the wake and getting no where near w2w, after I got "The Book" and followed the steps and practiced the drills I am now going w2w everytime and easily getting 4-6ft jumps without even trying. Not to say the other dvds wouldn't give the same results but as this is the only one I have watched I am a little partial to it.
