I am brand new to the sport but have had a lot of success with skiing, slalom, and kneeboarding. I recently purchased a used wakeboard (O'Brien Siren) and have no clue how to go about fitting the bindings. I have learned how to unscrew and reset, but I am not sure how fit the boot to my foot. I think I am okay with the angle of my feet (I can re-adjust as I go, right?) but I am not sure how tight/loose they should be.

Also, I have done a little research in adding "lube" Laughing to get your feet in, but do you put your board on sitting on the platform or ompletely in the water?

Please provide any pointers or advice you might have on these issues or anything else I might need to know to get going.

As for the binding position I ride with mine duck footed about 9 degrees each. As in how tight you want them its up to you, I use to like them loose so I could fall out of them when I crashed atleast until one foot stayed in and one came out, that hurt like a mother, really twisted my leg around. Now I ride with them tight but comfortable so I rearly fall out except on really really hard landings. I don't have a swim platform on my boat so I always put mine on in the water. Good luck. And remember to adjust the rope length to the type of wake your boat puts out farther away when learning so you aren't near the big part of the wake and closer when you start doing jumps and actually using the wake. Every boats wake is a little different so it is hard for some one to tell you what length to make it unless they have seen the shape of your wake. Good luck.

Ya hes pretty much right on everything. but usaully when you get better you start moving your rope length farther back and increasing your speed.

Yea he is right when you get better you will lengthen your rope so when you hit the wake you have more time in the air between wakes so you can do more tricks. Like on my boat beyond 65' my wake is almost nonexistent so I stay in the 55-65' range, I just need either more weight or a new boat.
