Is this a horrible idea. I can do 180's inside the wake, and ollie 180s. But I'm considering a 360 w2w before a 180 because I don't feel comfortable landing goofy, or taking off goofy. I seem like it might not be a bad idea to do a handle pass and land the 360 HS. Is this complete nonsence?
Should I try an ollie 360 first, or is this olso crazieness. |

Darin, it's complete nonsense. land a w2w 180 before you try w2w 360's

| Just get comfortable landing switch. Best thing you'll ever do with your wakeboarding. All last year all I did was jump the wake heelside, jump it farther etc....and ignored my switch. Started trying 180's and really struggled because I was so uncomfortable landing. I force myself now everytime I ride to go an entire session switch before I try anything else. Boarding has improved 10X faster than it did before I ignored switch riding. It won't take long, just force yourself to learn to ride switch then move onto the 360's etc. |

| I totally agree with Epic, and if you want to try your 360, go right ahead, it can't hurt to try. |

| I tried 360's before really dialing in my 180's. I regret doing that now. I recommend getting all your 180's first. |

If youre really not comfortable with your balance landing switch, Id try doing toeside 180s first. The launch is a little harder than a HS w2w jump is, but since you open up to the boat and can keep both hands on the handle the whole time, its a much more natural movement. When you land, just make sure youre on your heels and leaning against the rope and youll have instant stability. Atleast till you catch that front edge coming out of switch
Seriously, 360s are killer if you dont already have the fundimentals down. Try a few and I think youll decide to revisit your 180s. _________________ Long Island, NY & Canada Lake, NY (addirondacks)

I can't ride switch for sh*t. If you can get to a cable try doing a few laps switch, that helped me a lot.
It took me a while to get my head around landing switch, as I kept thinking that whatever way I would be rotating, would result in landing in an impossible position.
In the end I just went for it then it all made sense! Just try it, or try it over one wake at first if you find that easier, then move your way up to two wakes. _________________ Myspace

| I landed my first W2W 180 Monday behind my friends' mastercraft. I've been able to do a 360 for a few months. I just ignored switch riding... biggest mistake I have yet to make in wakeboarding. In conclusion, It can be done, but I wouldn't reccomend it. |

I like what Guitsboy said. The ts 180 is probably the easiest to learn because you land on your heels with both hands on the handle.
If you try a heelside 180, keep it mellow. just go far enough to land on the downside of the second wake instead of bombing for the flats.
Cut in easy, pop up off the wake, and just shift that handle over to your back hip.
When I was helping my buddy with the hs 180, There were 3 main points that really got him over the hump. 1. Come at the wake normal... no bigger or smaller than a wake to wake. you have plenty of time to pull a 180, so relax, pop up in the air, and if the w2w jump is good, start shifting the handle to your back hip.
2. After shifting the handle to his back hip finish the move off by letting go with your front hand and point the handle down at your heel. pretend the handle is a stick that you are using to point down at the ground with... that will get your arm in the right position.
3. Look to the shore and show them your chest. That will get you in a proper landing position...If you look down, you are likely to slide out on your heels. The trick is not over when the board hits the water, it is over when you are edging away from the wake, so landing on edge will finish it quicker. |
