hey i've just been dialing in my threes lately, still pretty sketchy with em but i can land em...sometimes. Anyway it seems to me in alot of vids people are doing inverts without any 3's and one thread a couple weeks ago the guy had only been wakeboarding a couple months and was starting his inverts. Are they really that easy, i've always been wary of inverts cause i thought the wipes would be way worse. What's the dealio with inverts?

Inverts are easy as beans when comparing them to spins. Example: to do a backroll all you need to do is cut nice and steady and do it the right way, or else muscle your way through it - which is the main problem with many riders, they muscle through every trick.

I know people that can barely do HS wake jumps, but can land backrolls and tantrums, it's a joke. Then there is people that can only throw certain inverts - Backroll, tantrum, frontroll (sometimes), and tantrum - but no spins at all.

3's take much more body control and are technicaly way more difficult than basic inverts. I'd rather watch someone throw three's all day then watching certain riders muscle through a backroll then fall on their TS one wake jumps. Rolling Eyes

But as the old saying goes, and of which some people live by: "Spins look cool, but flips get the chicks."

landed my 3 first but got 3 inverts all 90% consistent and I'm still batting about 50% on my 3s. Some are better at it than others though. I have a friend who isn't consistent for crap on inverts but is a much better at spins than I am. And he hasn't been riding as long.

I pretty much have my HS FS 3 dailed, but I've only landed HS backroll twice for the past 6 weeks since I first landed it. Spin is definitely easier for me, but it's easy to get hurt on doing 3's and it hurts like hell if you landed on your back.

I sprained my ankles twice already for doing TS FS 3, but so far no major injury on doing backroll, just some faceplants.

yeah it all depends on the person really...i can land hs fs 3's probably 90% of the time and hs fs 5's about 50% but inverts seem a lot harder to me..i actually learned my 3rd invert today but 3's always be more consistent than any invert i'll ever do

My first trick out of the gate is a HS 3 I'm 100% with those and slap a slob grab in there almost 50% of the time.
I have a few inverts that are close to 100% as well but still get worked on some of my newer ones.
I never get worked on spins BS or FS for some reason I spin better than I flip. I attest that to all my years on a snowboard.

I agree with Craig-R, It all depends on the person and I'll add in my case the persons age....

Tramp time is the best solution for all your invert problems... IMO

I've been workin on my HS 3 and have had a little luck with it...but you guys are saying that inverts are technically "eaiser" than spins?....I really want to try one but like most the other guys i have always been afraid of the end result...

liquid_force_balance06, spins were a lot easier for my friends and i to learn, but a lot of people learn inverts before spins because of the "wow factor" it has with the chicks...tools Laughing

i hate inverts. I need someone to hold my hand and tell me it's ok. they scare me. I've never even tried one. but when the boat gets out of the shop I will, cuz I got a new board/boots at my expense. if I put this much money into this, I'm gonna go trick crazy now. I get 3's more often than not, but I'm screwed cuz I never learned a 180... seriously, I landed my first W2W 180 Monday. Sad

i learned 3's right after my first invert (hs backroll) i learned them off one wake to begin....
i thought they were harder to learn, and i fell harder learning spins than my first basic inverts. so in my opinion yes spins are more difficult
now i can do 3's with my eyes closed, with grabs, off the D-UP whatever.....started working on 5's----which in my opinoon are waaaaayyy harder than any of the basic inverts

I personally found spins easier than inverts to a point.
Any 3 variation was alot easier to learn than any of the inverts for me.... with the exception of a ts bs 360. I cannot do those yet, and I give kudos to anyone that can.
