Im looking around on some boards, and i was wondering how long it will take untill i outgrow my LF search 139?
Ive been riding like 9times total now, and doing the basic stuff, like W2W jump, surface 180's, ollie 180, butterslide, powerslide... as of now im working on W2W 180.
Here is a link for more detailed information about my board: http://www.wakeworld.com/boardguide/getboard5.asp?ProductID=2214
im 6'1" and i weigh 154 pounds.
What would the next board be? any suggestions will be appreciated!
Thanks in advance. _________________ Hi you \o/

I believe that a 139cm board should be about the right size for your height/weight based on what the manufacturers and other posters on this forum have said.
Skill level is a different issue altogether.
I'm a beginner but I outgrew my "beginner" board within a month. _________________ Hilton Head Wake Sports.com

What kind of tricks did you do when you felt you needed a new board? I mean i can ride around and do the things i listed up there the whole day pretty much, its not like im having a hard time staying up.. My learning curve have been straight up, i came up on my first try ever.. and i think i even started jumping the first time...
Edging? nah, wont say something about it, cause then some asshat gonna come here and comment on it, saying that edging is the most important thingy and such.. well edging is easy if you have been riding snowboard for 7years in powdersnow!
anyhow, i guess its hard to tell when its time to step up to a higher level board Oo
Thanks tho! _________________ Hi you \o/ |

i would say stick with that board and just keep trying, getting a differint board wont give you the ability to do new tricks _________________ "This suit is really crampin' my hardy boys, and its no mystery" |

It really wasn't about tricks, unless you mean edging and basic jumps. I guess I should clarify... the problem wasn't so much with the old board, but with the old bindings. Those cheap, cheesy velcro bindings gave no support and no control. My feet felt like they were BARELY attached to the board.
I realize that I could have just put a better set of bindings on the old board and gotten by that way, but I wanted a better quality board and bindings that I could grow into skill-wise.
Between practicing every chance I get and all of the great info available on this forum, I think I'm coming around. I definitely feel like I'm getting better every time I go out. _________________ Hilton Head Wake Sports.com

HHI Dave, That did Clarify quite a few things. And yeah, this forum do help alot, espescially with small details. But honestly, i think the best way to learn is just to get out there and try it
Anyhow, Im going on a wakeboard camp this weekend, and the staff who arrange the camp are bringing tons of wakeboards to try out, (Including wakeskate, which i so gonna try!) so im just gonna test out a bunch of boards and see how it feels.
Im looking forward to this camp cause they got a "real" boat with a real wake, which ive never riden after before =) Big improvments incoming, hopefully!
And ill make sure to get some vids and pics from it _________________ Hi you \o/ |

| Andromade, FYI on your conversion, from what you posted(inches) the mistake was a difference of 25.4 cm if that gives you an idea why we were questioning the original height you posted. As for your original question, sorry I don't have an answer. Will let the seasoned riders around here answer that(i'm a newb also, pretty much working on same stuff you are) |
