well- now it's been banned in arkansas and missouri, recalled in several other states. maybe it's because i'm known as 'captian safety' on the boat...but i never thought that it was a good idea from the get-go. we have a boat on our lake that has one...they've never really been able to get it up very high (the boat they have doesn't have a lot of power) which is good because i would hate to see someone get hurt on it.
the shop I work at sells them...and they break all the time. Personally I think it's a cool idea but should be used more with a professional than for personal use behind your boat. The boat has to be going so fast for the tube to get much air and if you add up how fast you'd fall if you messed up, you're going pretty fricken fast which IMO is a recipe for serious injury.
There is another thread about kite boarding in the non-wakeboarding section i think.
IMO it seems like you are asking to get hurt! I do some sports where injuries are high but still looking at some of the pics posted where people are really high makes me think they are asking for trouble.
BTW I have only seen pics, How do you land a kite tube? _________________ "It must be the moonlight or the bottle of goldslagger that brings out the romance in a girl" - Out Cold
