is garnett considered a postseason failure?

well once again garnett and the timberwolves have made am early exit to the nba playoffs(this makes it 7 straight if i remember right). so the question is...is garnet a postseason flop or is it due to lack of players surrounding him?no body argues that he's good but great players make the people around them better. a couple things to take note on for this year. garnett played well but.... he played only like 30 seconds of the wolves game 3 overtime win, during clutch time they don't feed him the ball like kobe, duncan, or jordan (great players not only call for the ball they demand it), and he recieved more offensive support from troy hudson this year than anyone would expect. so is he a flop, victim of bad luck, or a great player stuck in the hardest confrence in the world and it's not his fault?

Garnett is a good player. I wouldnt say he is a flop, just hasnt been nurtured by anyone with playoff experience/sucess. He has had this team on his back since day 1 and has had to learn the game on his own. Here are Garnetts post season problems:

1. he is afraid of contact. Nobody with his size and ability needs to be shooting turn-around jumperd on every posession. he should be going to the rack and at least shooting free-throws.

2. He is expecting to be able to do it on his own like in the regular season. Playoff defense is much more intense than normal. KG will have to use the screens set for him instead of waving everyone off all the time. Even Jordan knew how to use a screen.

3. He will have to become more efficient in working out of double coverage. He will shoot a bad shot while double teamed more than any other player. He doesnt know if he has a good team around him or not, because he doesnt allow them to work.

4. He needs to think more and stay composed. When the pressure is on, he is easily distracted and a smack talking defensman can get him out of his game really quick.

He is still young, and an incredible player as far as ability goes. Some good veteran playoff leadership would do that team wonders. maybe they will pick up an old free agent.

The wolves area good team...they just dont have the experience that the Lakers do. It doesn't help that the team isn't very consistent game to game....You can't go into the playoffs "hoping" that one or two more players will step up to help KG. At least the lakers know they can depend on Kobe, Shaq, Fisher, etc. to step up and score. I think the T-wolves will definately pose a threat....

dees is right though....who the hell wants to play the Lakers in the first round given the Lakers recent playoff record....

Garnett is a great player, but he cant do it all. The t-wolves need someone that they can consistently depend on other than KG.

I guess you could call him a postseason failure, but it would more fair to label the team as a whole a postseason failure. He definately hasn't been a flop. You could also place some of the blame on bad luck/management with the Timberwolves as they've suffered probably more in the past few years than any other team.

One thing to remember is that many "experts" predicted that the Wolves wouldn't have even made the playoffs this year, or would've gotten the 7-8th seed. They had possibly their greatest season ever, despite having Terrell Brandon miss the entire season and Wally Szczerbiak miss half the season. That's pretty impressive in my opinion.
