|
|
I just picked up my new (to me) '02 X-star and am having a little trouble with the wake being to foamy. At speeds of 18 - 20mph (which is good for my 7, 9 and 11 year old kids, I dont get a crisp wake. Any suggestions? At this speed the wake is also very spread out and difficult for them to clear.
Also, any suggestions on instructionsal dvd's with an emphasis on safety? My 11 year old nose planted into the wake while trying to clear it and is having a little trouble getting up the courage to try again. |

Wake too wide: Try shortening the rope a bit or speeding up.
Wake too washy/foamy: Try messing around with the speed or shifting some weight around. I bet you'll be able to find the wake you want by moving some weight around (back to front, etc). |

Wake too wide = shorten the rope
Wake too washy = add more weight to the front of the boat and move weight out of the back. 18 is probably about right for those ages, so while speeding up will clean up the wake you want them to be comfortable. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

| If your kids are trying to go w2w, then surely they can handle a little increase in speed. Maybe 20 MPH. That should clean it up. If they are just learning, then you really don't need a wake. |
