i have firmly mastered the HS wake-to-wake building tention on the line and standing tall at the wake and edging through. but my TS wake-to-wake is not all there ad i usually land about a foot short of the downslope.

little background first, im a 245 lbs. rider and im on a watson board and bindings and i love it. im riding 60-65 feet behind a super air and its always sacked down (3 sacks) and with the tanks full so im riding on quite a large wake. i took lessons from pro-rider brian sasser ad he got me going wake-to-wake BS and FS consistently and smoothly. his prosseive edge method was to take a 15-20 cut out dropping my knees down and letting the rope out and letting the boat pull me back in. slowly and gradually stand up and pull the rope in to my front hip to build tension on the rope timed perfectly so that when i reach the wake im standing tall and i have the rope firmly in on my front hip.

my BS wake-to-wake is great everytime and im going pretty huge everytime and i follow this method still except that right when i reach the crest of the wake i give an extra little push, not an ollie, but just a little something to help me not absord any pop off the wake. i never go off-axis or loose balance

on my FS jump my brother eleminated that push that i do because it was throwing me off-axis everytime. he told me to just take a little bigger cut and to charge the wake a bit more during my progressive edge and thats gotten me about a foot short of the downslope. should i be building tention by standing tall through the cut and pulling the rope in just like my BS cut? ive also noticed some riders including my brother that stand tall with the rope in from the inital cut and just build tension through the edge, is this a better method? also, is more important to keep both hands on the rope all the way through or let go with the back hand? i feel like im stalling out with my distance about the peak of my highth and im just floating forward with the boat. i usually let go with the back hand for balance because it feels like im getting pulled forward, is that just because im letting the rope get away from me and could that affect my distance leaving me short?

Keep both hands on the rope, if you are casing the wake, or not clearing it, try to do a TS FS 180, this helps a lot of people trying to clear the wake. If not, try to keep the rope tight to your hip, KEEPING BOTH HANDS on the handle, take a progressive cut and just ride the whole wake, stand tall, and pop.

Honestly though, the only way to learn it is too ride as much as possible. As soon as you get it, you'll say "that was too f'n easy", from then on you're golden. It's just the matter of finding where you feel comfortable or a little past it.

OR, post a video clip of you riding, then you could get some better tips on what to do other than what you and I described.

You keep saying FS and BS W2W...do you mean HS and TS? Or regular and switch? Not really sure what you're trying to explain when you say BS or FS W2W. If you're talking about your toeside jump though (which I think is what you question revolves around), I use a similar apporach as you. Take a nice progressive edge, stand tall through the wake, and give that extra little push with your legs was you reach the peak of the wake. I just started finally hitting TS W2W last weekend. I didn't realize it til I watched the video, but I let go with my back hand everytime as well...wasn't doing it conciously. I'm going to try to hold with both hands next time out.

TS = Toeside Cut
HS = Heelside Cut

FS = Frontside rotation
BS = Backside rotation

ive tried a TS 180 and it helps a little bit but its not getting me where i need to be. should i be standing tall off the pop or building into it like i do HS? ill get video when i can

You want to stand tall to get the pop, and build your edge just as you do on the HS wake jump

i wrote that last one wrong, i meant standing tall off the initial cut in and just taking a good edge or standing up and pulling the rope in gradually like my HS

i just keep the handle as close as possible to my front hip, and i mean its on my hip. and its easier to cut farther out on your heelside edge then make a toeside cut quicker. so id say just cut far on your heels and then come in stand tall, id say let go with your back hand but its kinda a bad habit but it helps me to land balanced sometimes
