|
|
i just recently learned ts backrolls but i find it hard to get clean across the wake, i always catch the top of it. i want my ts backrolls to be floaty looking instead of hucked...i've tried cutting harder but i still hit the top of the wake, all i need is about 1' more of distance to clear the wake but i also want to go up higher instead of throwing the roll real low. i attached a video, any help would be appreciated
-thanks
craig

They look good but you just need to do one thing...WAIT! You are throwing it too early. You are throwing it going UP the wake and you need to wait until the TOP of the wake. That should elimate all your problems.
Pause the video during your second attempt as your left binding (back foot) is at the very top or crest of the wake. Your body should still be vertical at this point (or close to it) as you haven't left the wake yet but you are already about parallel with the water and into your flip.
Nice riding though!

They look pretty good so far! When do you start trying them??
Try edging out a little further before coming back into the wake so you can drift a bit more before you start to edge hard. This will give you some more speed without having to edge to get it. You won't feel like you are going much faster toward the wake.

craig i cant see the clip but make sure you hold with two hands for longer and be real patient for the pop before throwing your hips up.
Try them off the double up, they are sooooo much fun and you can go HUGE. never hurts going out the front if you mess up on the double or you get an awkward one.....strange but true. it will tech you to be patient and float. once again so much fun.

jpminter, i started trying them a while back but just as an afterthought, so i finally decided i wanted to land one so i worked a little harder at it and got it. i havent done more than 10 so far probably.
wtbamoomba, i attempted a scarecrow one time, about a year ago, and it was the most pitiful thing ive ever done so i havent tried one since. i think my problem was a didnt ride up the entire wake and get any pop, but i was thinking about trying them soon because i really want to learn an invert with a frontflip base instead of a backflip base
Sinkoumn, i looooove the watson, i used to have a HL premier 141 dna and i like the watson so much more. i'd recommend it to anyone

Maybe try to grab it. It will make you wait longer to throw the flip, giving you much more pop. That helped me alot with TS backrolls and tantrums. Plus they look better.
