| I just started flipping about a week or 2 ago and I have the scarecrow and backroll down. I also can do hs fs 360's about 90% of the time. What should I try next? O/A 360, tantrum, ts 360, hs 540, ts front flip, hs bs 180/360, slim chance, slim chance 540, hs front roll, mexi roll, backroll to revert....if only I had that much time to get them all down. I'm much better at front flips than back flips. I really don't know what to try. I can land the slim chance 540 easily on a tramp but i can't do a back flip. That is one reason my first flip was a scarecrow. messed up i know but what can ya do? |

| ok for a slim chance you need to be able to do a hs frontflip, which ironically isn't on that list and realistically i don't see you landing one for a couple years. also a hs frontroll doesn't exist but maybe thats what you mean for a hs frontflip. i'd try some backside spins maybe and switch things up. O/A 360, tantrum, ts 360, hs 540, mexi roll, and backroll to revert all seem realistic so just take your pick |

| I agree with Craig-R as usual but I think I'd consider going for the tantrum next, too. The tantrum is a base move for lots of other tricks. |

| If you're good at front flips on the tramp and have your backroll down go for the mexi roll. |

I always get the hs frontroll and frontflip mixed up. You are right. I meant the hs frontflip. I don't understand why you think that I won't land a slim chance for a few years. That seems pretty pessimistic. It makes me want to land that one next.

I know that is one of the basic flips, but I'm not very good at straight up backflips and I want to be doing a different flip than my buddies.

Isn't the mexi roll looked down upon, like a bad version of a back roll? |

| tristanmx7, i wasn't dissing your ability or potential, i'm just saying it's a very advanced trick and seeing has you are landing only a handful of tricks, it's going to take some time. i've been wakeboarding for 5 years and have yet to try a hs frontflip but hey if i fueled the fire for you to learn a slim chance then good. get some video of it for us to enjoy. the mexi roll isn't frowned upon because it's the kind of backroll you should do if you want to take it to blind (hs roll to blind) |

| tristanmx7, HS Frontflip is a difficult trick (tip-to-tip forward cartwheel rotation...bascially opposite of backroll). Mexi Roll is a HS trampoline style frontflip (rail-to-rail front flip rotation). |

Craig-R, I know it's a tough trick but I don't think it'll take me a few years to land it if I start trying it now. I hope not anyway. Maybe it's smart for my skill level and bag of tricks to be at the point that it would be in 3 years to even think about trying the slim chance but I guess i can be like some of the guys on here that are going for 360's and flips before even being able to land a w2w 180's.
Bobmurph, I know the difference between those two flips and that a mexi roll isn't called a hs frontroll but I tend to call a hs front flip a frontroll instead just because it is the opposite rotation as a backroll. |

| tristanmx7, yeah i know what you mean...i can land whirlybirds MUCH more consistently than tantrums so i wouldn't put it past you to learn a slim chance before a bs 3 or somethin crazy like that. your attitude about it inspires me |

I just figure it's close to a scarecrow rotation and I have those down pretty solid. I tried just doing a ts frontflip and i naturally rotated into the scarecrow. i'm walking before i can crawl and it's hard to learn to crawl now. I just want to learn big tricks and pick up the chicks because of it |
