learn good board control first.. thats key
then once you have a good progressive edge....start jumping the wake
it'll all build from there... w2w, grabs, spins, etc.

i just started riding this year and IMO it more about having fun out there first... the tricks will come... i was trying to "go big" too quick and got frustrated with myself... but once i decided to relax and just have fun, i was able to do more...

that's just my limited experience and 2 cents....

I'd breaking down even more wakefrog.

Get comfortable riding, the work on your edging, BOTH toeside and heelside.

Then maybe ollies, then surface 180's
when you are comfortable with these, start hop out (jumping from within the wakes out) the hop -ins (jump over one wake) before progressing on the w2w.

There are a lot of very good instructional DVD's other there that could give you some good pointers. I like the book and higher education.

just take your time and don't get caught up in the "go big then go home (hurt)" peer pressure you'll receive.

noob is right.

A lot of it depends on how much you are going to ride this Summer. The more often you ride, the faster you will progress. For example, someone that rides 10 times in a two week period will be more advanced then someone that rides 15 times in a two month period.

Getting on the water as often as possible is key, so you don't lose that feeling, on whatever trick you were trying last time you were out.

For your first Summer, I would concentrate on good board control drills. I'd make it a point to learn how to jump the wake smoothly heelside and toeside. From there, I would try to learn all 4 180's. From there, I would work on my switch riding. Once you've done all of that, you will have successfully developed a strong base that will make the next level of tricks MUCH easier to accomplish, and you'll be doing them with more consistency and better style. Learn the building blocks now, and progress faster tommorow.

be as comfortable riding switch as riding your regular stance. I didn't do this, and now after 5+ years wakeboarding, I have to go back and learn. it sucks.... In conclusion, when you do a trick and land it, also throw it switch until you get it switch.

alrite so, I have board control pretty much dialed. I can carve on the water just as good on snow. I am learning to do surface 180's (just reverts) So wat are some other things I should be trying?
