|
|
Hey I can get really high probly 8 feet of air and I was wondering if I should learn a 360 first or a hooche glide. All of my friends watching in the boat say I defanantly get enough air to do a 360. Which is easier and what are some helpful tips?
thanks.

[In Napoleon Dynamite Voice] "You got like 3 feet of air that time"
This topic is pretty rediculous, Sketchy, what is your skill level? What tricks are you currently landing constantly? Etc, etc?
Usually people learn 3's first, but to each his own.

| Stretchy pants #1, are you seriously asking this question? Those are 2 of the most opposit tricks. Why would you be picking between those 2 tricks?

i can do ts 5s behind a jetski. you dont need 8 feet of air to do a spin. most people dont even get 8 feet of air on a good double up. learn the 3 first.. you wont get your ass kicked on the falls.

| Very few people get 8 feet of air constantly. If you're getting that high then why would you just now start trying basic tricks?

Maybe he is talking about 8 feet of distance, and not height? He is a new forum member and only has 3 posts under his belt, so maybe he doesn't understand the "lingo" of how to describe what he is doing on the water. Just a thought.
I would try a 360 before a hoochie glide. Of course, as mentioned earlier, a lot of that depends on where you are riding-wise. How much air you get isn't a good measure of what trick you need to try next. A better measure would be to tell us the tricks that you are currently doing, and how comfortable you are with them.

yea, a raley and a 3 are like day and night. two more different tricks have yet to be found. If you can't do a 360, then you shouldn't be able to get half a raley down, much less a Hoochie Glide. you deserve an eye rolling. you see that? you earned it.

| you should just put them together and try a hoochie 313 that way if you land it, you will have done both tricks and it will minimize your time

ok here's a picture to show you exactly how high 8 feet is about. so unless you are getting this high without having even tried 360's yet, i severely doubt you are getting consistently 8 feet. it may feel like 30 ft, but its probably not more than 4-5

Why wouldn't someone be able to get half a raley down if they can't do a 3 when "two more different tricks have yet to be found?" A 3 is not a prerequisite to a raley or hoochie. Like you said, they couldn't be more different. So if a guy wants to spend all his time learning raley's and hoochie's, he need not learn any spins or even a toeside jump. I know a guy who can't do any inverts or spins. Pretty much the only trick he can do is a batwing. Granted, kind of looks like an idiot when you can't clear the wake toeside but it's certainly possible to learn one without the other.

I don't think he's talking about distance there.

| Epic, a batwing is a toeside trick so i doubt a batwing is what he's doing if he cant clear the wake toeside...maybe an indy glide

Actually I think he does a hoochie. Not a guy a ride with. It's my secretaries ex-boyfriend and she was telling me earlier this year he can only do one trick where he grabs the board with one hand behind his head like a raley. Say's it looks really cool but he can't do anything else.
