I built this wall rack for my board in about 2 hours. It only requires (2) 75" lenghts of 2x4, 8 screws, and 2 screw in wall hooks coated with rubber. It's supported by being pressed between my bed and the wall and takes up very little space. I painted it white and slapped a CWB sticker on it a placed a trophy on top(non-wakeboarding Sad ) and it was finished!

Dependingon on your setup, you will need something on top to hold it from falling. I use the same thing on mine, but my board will fall back if i don't put the laces on the other hooks above it for my other board. I plan to make a new on soon.

I don't have that problem. The hooks go out far enough to give my board a good angle to lean back.

you could just put sting/nylon loops bolted to the wall mount, then just hang the board by putting the nose and tail through the loops. It might finish a little better than the hooks - I don't know what type of wood you're building it out of, but the hooks usually are either bright yellow, or orange and may be a little out of place.

Just a thought

I though about doing someting like that but i din't know how stable it would be. The bindings are making it front heavy and I needed a way to keep it from leaning foward. Yeah the hooks are yellow but they don't look that bad. I tried spray painting them but that turned out to be a bad idea.

Heres what i would like.

Keep in mind, This will hold 4 boards, my main on being on the top, and my old ones filling the rest of the spots.

What are you going to use for the shelf holding up te boards? It looks like a good design. Post some pics when you build it.

I'm feelin' kinda lazy to take pics, but what I did with our snowboards would probably work w/wakeboards too... I got some of those shelving parts from home depot.. they kind where you put a the slot rails on the wall, then clip in the arms wherever you want them... then I got the longest arms I could find, and used some of those round foam pipe insulators you'd find near the water heaters and put them over the arms for padding... works great for the snowboards... wakeboards are all around the garage, in the way, begging for a better solution too... but when I'm not doing stuff to the boat, I just leave 'em in there (I'm up to 3, so they're always in the way somewhere).

This whole "DIY" term is really getting streched...
