I was out with my buddy the other day who has an 04 B52 and my wake clowns his even with his tanks full...at 2000lbs! All i needed was three fat sacs.

Its so funny how this old boat can put out wakes with the best of the new ones...

I am getting a new alternator installed today so i can have enough juice to run the stereo system.

Every place i have taken this boat including west coast correct craft absolutely love the thing. The rare 454 barefoot engine is also a nice touch too.

walkdizzy, How much weight fits in that locker behind the seat, and What other weight do you run?

It is a proud day I just bought my first boat. An 82 2001. I am going to go get it tuesday but here are a couple of pics.

I haven't yet figured out a good way to put weight up under the bow behind the seat. I could only see using some lead or sand bags. There is a raised portion that runs on the entire right side under the bow. If you shoved a fat sac up there it would be weight biased on the left side. What I did on my '83 was to turn the passengers seat 90 degrees and put a 250lb sac in between the two seats. You can then fit a 400lb sac on either side of the engine cover and another 250 in the back right behind the motor cover.

BTW, the interior on you new boat looks great. How much did you end up paying for that boat? It looks like the previous owner spent alot of cash to get it into that good of condition.

damn jon4pres, that is a GREAT looking boat. Whoever redid the interior really did a good job and the exterior looks immaculate. It's nice to have the speakers already installed too.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I am actually going to go pick it up tomorrow afternoon. The previous owner totally restored the boat in 1999 he built composite stringers and fiberglassed the floor. It should be a great boat for a long time. I am about to go nuts waiting.

Is it safe to put a pylon in the boat and anchor it to the loop on the front of the boat or do I need to go arond the nose?? I plan on building a tower but probably wont happen untill this winter. I just wanna ride.

Congrats jon4pres. Really nice find. That interior is beautiful.

Based on comments from this and other forums I picked my first boat up this weekend. Well, 1/2 mine...a friend and I split it. '88 showing 450hrs (2nd owner, pretty sure its accurate). Needs to be re-upholstered/carpeted but runs great and should clean up very nicely.

Love the sound and the wake looked pretty nice even unweighted. I'll be taking more pics as it gets cleaned up and modded.

Better bring this one back to life.

I have had my boat for almost a month and been in it countless times. I have had exatly 0 problems and absolutly love everything about the boat. knock on wood.
Has anyone ever put a glove box in their boat? I have already donated one wallet to the water god.

I've had mine for about 2 months (put about 7 hours on it) and I could have said that....until this week when I let my Dad take the boat out. He's called me everyday this week at work.....boat was taking on water (I drove 45min up there and the stuffing box just needed adjustment), the voltage was reading 11V (belt needed to be tightenend), the skylon rack wore a hole through my brand new sunbrella bimini and lastly, today, the raw water impeller destroyed itself.....he was stuck out in the main channel overheated. At least he was bright enough to bring along my W-M BOA card so the tow back was only $50. I swear, if I didn't still owe him $$ for it I would ban him from using it w/o my supervision. Confused

I do need to post some updated pics though.....she's sooooo pretty sitting in the water with the pylon/rack and bimini. Also, finally put a couple sacs in it for the first time on Monday and all I have to say is WOW....the wake just gets bigger and harder. Its even better than I expected. I can definately see why everyone says you need weight in the front though.....I had the sacs set further to the back and it was almost too vert. I would just pop me straight up in the air.

bmh2208 - I think the best way to put ballast in the front is a bunch of batteries, amps, and subs. The stuff stays dry and LOUD.

85sn2001, very nice setup you have there. In fact, I didn't like the monster tower on the SN's till I saw yours. One question.....did you upgrade your alternator at all?.....the little 51a is about to give up the ghost and I'd like to find at least 70-100amp alternator to power all the electronics I plan to install. I know rebuilding for more output is an option, but the 17y/o case has definately seen better days. Would really like to find a drop-in replacement if possible.

Bremsen - thanks man.

Boat runs great so I didn't change anything. I don't rely on the alternator. I just run the two golf cart batteries down when sitting in the cove and charge them at home when necessary, which is after the 3rd all day outing usually. With the perko I never worry about being stranded because the deep cyle marine batt under the steering wheel is isolated to start the boat, as long as I remember to turn the swith from "all" to "2" when in the cove.

85sn2001, Ah, I see. My problem is that (like my dad used to tell me) 'I'd forget my head if it wasn't screwed to my shoulders'. I'd really like to upgrade the alternator.

I am debating on picking up a 2001 for a project. Find a real old one and fix it up, then try and sell it. The market for them here is ridiculous. A decent one will fetch 8-9K. Shocked

Haugy, asking prices seem to keep rising on them everywhere. Its kinda crazy. If you can find a deal....with good floors/stringers that just needs cosmetics you might be able to turn a profit. However, the good ones are becoming few and far between (why prices keep rising).

Here are some updated pics of ours. Added a Joystick tower last month and got some v-drive sacs and 2 tsunami pumps over the winter. Gotta do some little maintenence and modify the bimini to fit the tower, but she'll be ready to hit the water soon. Man I can't wait....only a few more weeks.

Drumma, the Envoy is my friend/co-owner's. Its rated at 6000lbs(I6/2wd) and pulls the little SN just fine (the SN weighs about 3500lbs boat/trailer/gear). It'll do even better when we fix the trailer brakes (we only tow 5-15mi on backroads and just keep a safe distance for now).
