does anyone know why they dropped wakeboarding?
I'm wondering if it was partly because of location logistics. Finding smooth water close to the rest of the events can't be easy. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

They announced that Wakeboarding wouldn't be in the X-Games this year due to the cost of production so far from the rest of the event. They plan on putting it back in next year, they just need time to calculate a more logistically sound plan/location. _________________ '05 Supra Launch 24SSV |

| well if they took out half the skateboard events they've made up and half the motocross events they've made up they could broadcast the whole PWT. thats just bs. |

I think if they would play more wakeboarding, instead of Bubb Rubbing poker they might get a little more viewers.
I mean honestly, normal people are channel surfing, and see wakeboarding, "Wow cool" and i'm sure when they see poker they're like great....
Its like paintball was. ESPN wouldn't show it forever, and then finnially they did, and i know i as well as a lot of other people, will stop and watch it if it's on because it's new, and cool. |

I could care less if they have wakeboarding, even if they did, what would we see on the TV? The highlight reel of the prelims, and maybe if we're lucky, all the runs in the finals, maybe 30 minutes tops. And we better be damn sure we know what time it will run, because it won't be repeated. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/damoncall/

| Laugh Damon, I agree. Last year I got all pumped to watch it and all I saw was pieces of about 5 finals runs total. (About 10-15 minutes). Im fed up with X Games, all theyre trying to do is make money, they dont actually care about the sports. There is more to action sports than FMX and skateboarding... |

when you turn it on you see about an hour of commercials and them showing their little animated X thing. Then you see highlights from all the other events and then you see an event where they name all the tricks wrong.
this is off subject but last winter in Shaun Whites snowboard run they said he did 4 1080's when he really did 2 1080's and 2 900's. Shaun even said so in his interview.
besides who wants to see another skateboard vert competition. |
