Looking for some info from people who have ridden these bindings and could let me know how they differ. Looking at the 05' models. Mainly concerned about ankle support and movement.
Already picked up a pair of Alpha's but I won't hesitate to buy something else if those don't suite me. |

| sphynx's dont have any ankle support, i have transits and they have great ankle support and i love them. i used to sprained my ankle all the time when i played basketball but i havent sprained my ankle riding or anything. i highly recommend the transits |

| Transits offer more ankle support than the Sphynxs do. I personally went from a pair of the Sphynxs to Transits; I thought the Transits were overall a more supportive boot. |

| LSEGHATCH, I adore the alphas. Most people think theyre an intermediate binding vs advanced or pro caliber but I can assure you that these are just as good. Ive tried transits and CWB zeusses and still like my alphas twice as much. The transits are too stiff for me...impossible to bone out a grab. The alphas have good ankle support (probably more than sphynx but less than transits), easy entry, value, and comfort. If you have any specific questions, just ask. |

| I really hated the 05 Alphas with the single lace, rode them for a couple months last year...the 06's are a little better, but are slightly "mushy" for me (I prefer the 06 Torqs for the same price). The Sphynx are very comfy, and though I haven't ridden the 05 Transits, the 06's are really nice. Keep in mind they favor the Liquid Force "comfy" attitude for sure. If I was to get a LF binding, it would no doubt be the 06 Transits. |

I've rode all of those bindings, I prefered the Transits; next would be the alphas; Sphinxs are last. The sphinxs seemed too bulky and offered little or no support (the alphas were somewhat the same, but fit and felt a little better around the ankle).
However, if you are looking at 06 bindings, try out the Watsons - superior to all three you've listed, comfortable, supportive, but expensive...so try them out in store if you can, but just be open to fit and function, not brand name or style. _________________ Neuston Boards

I ride 05 sphynx's and I like them. Its true they dont offer even as much support as the alphas, but they allow for all softs of tweaks. My one concern is that I have to tighten the binding up absurdly to keep my feet from noving side to side. Enough so that it constricts my foot and cuts my set time down to a few minutes. If i leave them loose, my foot moves around and my toes even move forward and over the footbed. This is even with my size 13 feet in an XL-Narrow binding. Maybe theyll not cramp my feet so bad after they break in. Ive only had 4 weekends in them so far.
For what its worth, my brother loves his alphas. I like them, but i also like the flexibility of the sphynx's. _________________ Long Island, NY & Canada Lake, NY (addirondacks)

| Psh, who needs support. I love the sphynx's, because they are some of the most flexible and comfortable high end bindings i have ever tried on. I have heard that the transits are good, but I can't speak from experience on behalf of the Alpha's or Transits. |

transits are awesome, I like them a lot. Really comfortable, easy to get into, and lots of support, correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't that about fit the mold for binding requirements? _________________

I ride alpha's and they are super comfortable offer good ankle support and are still flexible enough to bone out grabs. The only thing i dont like about them are that the tongue likes to slide over but no biggie just make sure they are tightened down. And to whoever said the alpha's are an intermidiate binding, i laugh at you. What the **** does a binding have anything to do with your skill level, if you stick your tricks there should be no question. I have ripped 05 teams and broke 06 shanes and I would ride the alpha over those two any day. _________________ I ollie six mile an hour bouy's. |

I dont reccomend the 05' sphynx I broke my ankle in them and the back rubber support tears very easily if youre an aggresive rider...i know of this happening to 2 people besides me |

06 Alphas for me. They are as comfortable as the best shoes I've ever worn, zero pinch, circulation or other issues. They have no real shortfalls and do everything well.
What i dig too about em, I'm size 10 and have a big flat wide foot. I have a buddy who has size 12 huge feet, my wife has normal adult ladies feet, we ALL ride the same board with zero complaints. Size XL rules. Everyone is happy. _________________ My beer drinking friends have a wake boarding problem. |
