I'm pretty sure this could get into some heated discussions so I would have just posted up a poll.. Wink

IMHO I would say snowboarding is more fun because with my age, I can't legally drive a boat alone with friends and it kind of mellows things out with a boat full of family. On the hill, I'll go out with a group of friends and have a hell of a time. And who says speedos and bikinis are only for the water Twisted Evil

The best thing of all, snowboarding is really cheap to do without having to worry about getting a boat or rising gas prices affecting your weekend.

I don't see much of a difference price wise.

Lift ticket + gas for the car vs. Boat gas + gas for the car(course there is the whole monthly boat payment..)
Board prices are the same, wakeboarding might be cheaper due to only needing boots, not boots and bindings.
clothes would be about the same, depending on how high ended vest you get and wetsuit/drysuits...

There really isn't a reason to compare snowboarding to wakeboarding, they are in completely different seasons, there is no competition, nobody has to choose. I ski when there is snow, I wakeboard when there isn't.

i would say wakeboarding because you can go for alot longer time than snowboarding. After a while that chairlift and the lines get on my nerve.

Thats exacly right. There simular sports but have nothing to do with each other at the same time. I live in quebec canada so half the year i wakeboard and half the year i snowboard.

P.S I rather wakeboarding

I have to do it. In the summer wakeboarding is way better, the water feels good when it is hot outside. The snow conditions are not as good this time of year and I would hate to wreck my snowboard on the rocks.

In the winter snowboarding is the way to go. Water is just too cold for me and I would hate to freeze a engine block very expensive. The snow is much easier to navagate this time of year.

They are equal two like sports different times of the year.

That's the beauty of having a Winter and Summer. I love them both equally! By the time summer is over I am ready to hit the slopes. Unfortunately, I live far from the hills and don't get to go every winter.

That doesn't really make sense. I'm sure this guy is probably talking about learning one (or both) of the two. I would say they're both about the same. The major problem with snowboarding is Ice hurts more then water but when you fall, you can get up and go at it again. With wakeboarding, the water doesn't hurt nearly as much, but when you fall, the boat has to turn around and you have to get ready for the next run.

Hope it helps!
