I just started wakeboarding a few weekends ago. I just have a board from walmart (about $126), it has 2 fins at each tip and come out of the board nearly 2 inches. My question is, will fins severly affect surface tricks? Mainly 180's.

It'll make it a lot tougher the faster you go because they drag in the water.

What kind of board is it?
And I don't mean to be rude or anything, but get a real board... not one from walmart. If price is an issue, you can usually grab some cheap (pricewise) brand name boards and bindings either used or closeout deals on leftover 04 / 05 stuff.

Male or Female? Age would help too to know if you're going to be growing into it or not.

You can check - http://www.boardstop.com they even have a boardfinder where you can enter in your details and find boards to suit you. Even better would be if you have a local shop, you can go there and they'll help you out and usually you can demo boards for $25 bucks or so and then if you decide you like it they'll just take it off the purchase price.

That's the exact same package I got a few weeks back, and I like it a lot. Of course, I am just a beginner, so I don't really know the ins and outs of what a board should feel like, but either way, I've read that this is a good beginner board that will still allow for progress.

Thanks for all the input. I think I will go with this LF stance 134 package.
I won't exceed 180lbs anytime soon.

I have found the same board with different bindings for $259 at http://www.the-house.com/wklf34sta6kitzz-liquid-force-stance.html
I don't know how essential a good binding is, but the way I figure it is if it stays on your feet its fine. o.O

Bindings are the most important thing you can buy. A good binding lasts you afew years, while I go through boards every season. Becides, your riding style can adjust to different boards, your feet can't adjust to uncomfortable bindings. Wink

I'd go for the boardstop one personally, plus you'd help keep this site going.

I guess your right about the Comfortable binding thing. Thanks a ton for the help.
Before I completly leave this thread I have one question, Is a center fin 1 fin in the middle of the board, or is it 2 at each tip? I am a bit confused on this bit. For one, the site states it has a Removable, Long Base Center Fin.
If anyone can clear this up for me that would be most excelent.

the stance has molded fins(they are fiberglassed in, non removeable) on the toe and heelside edges. The center fin is the removeable poly(plastic)/fiberglass/metal fin, and there is only 1.
