|

Hi All,
New to the world of wakeboard and am completely addiceted. I started about two weeks ago, today I had two nasty wipe outs and didnt come completely out of my bindings, only half my foot did which put a wrench in my ankle. Is it not a good thing if I cant come out of my bindings ?
Am I gonna brake an ankle!! Thanks. |

| i think that whether or not you come out of your bindings when you fall is personal preference, though i'm assuming most like to stay in. i like my bindings not to come off when i fall, and i've had ankle pulling falls as well. it just depends whether or not you want to pop out. |

| I prefer not to come out of my bindings as well. I've never had an ankle injury but had quite a few bad falls. Some people I've ridden with prefer to eject out of their bindings. Guess it's a personal preference. |

I've had numerous bad wipeouts and sometimes I'll come out of my bindings and other times I won't. It really doesn't seem to matter on the severity of the fall either since my worst spill didn't result in the ejection.
If you'd rather come out on a spill and have the option, tighten your bindings a smidge less. _________________ But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions -- it is by grace you have been saved.

| I think what you'll realize as you get better and start doing harder stuff, you're wipeouts will get a bit worse and then you'll probably get ripped out of your bindings then. Don't mean to be rude, but since your just starting out, what you think is a nasty spill now, you'll probably think of as landing on pillows down the road. |

It all depends on how you fall! Go down head first and I just shot out of the bindings. Othertimes I'l get tumbeld around and still stay in the bindings. And, you do get hurt. Fortunately, I've not hurt my ankles or knees, just ribs and eardrum...

| i like to stay in because for me to have to fall out the bindings would be too loose and not very responsive. |

i was just going to mention that if you do fall out, theres a possibility of the board hitting you or vice verca which could make the spill even that much more dangerous......id stay in if you can _________________

My impression is that falling out or staying in really does not matter.
1/2 way is where bad things can happen.... if you loose one foot and not the other the board can easily spin and hurt the knee of the trapped foot.
For this reason, I setup to stay in. BUT on my fancy crashes I still can get totally ejected. |

| I usually pop out of mine b/c there just a little to big. I dont mind having to put them back on every fall because I'm pretty quick at putting them on with no lube. If it takes you a while to put your bindings on and you need soap, I would not recommend popping out after falls. |

IMO staying in is better:
1. If one foot comes out and the other stays in, you could possibley break your ankle
2.You can rip your bindings if you get ejected a lot ( i know from experience)
4.It takes long to get your feet back in.
Coming out of your bindings also affects your BRAIN.... who missed #3 _________________ I love the smell of napalm in the morning |

IMO = in my opinion.
If you are corn-fused by any of the shorthands look up any web page on shorthand acronyms for text messages.

your bindings should not come off at all, you want them to stay on _________________ Obrien Oasis 137 w/ Link Bindings

man guys all you have to do to prevent the board comin back and hitting you is puting your hands up in the direction you think the board is in, that way it hits your arms/hands instead of your head. its saved me a couple times. _________________ sh1t happens when you party naked |

the key word there is think, you're not going to know where it is every time, therefore its fare from guaranteed, infact its more likely to not work than it is to work. just dont let the board come off, problem solved (way its supposed to be done anyway) _________________ Obrien Oasis 137 w/ Link Bindings
