|
|
OK, I'm a newbie boarder. Currently, I'm riding a cheap Hydroslide, but I'm thinking about an upgrade.
I'm considering the CWB Flame 141 with the Torq Hinge bindings. I don't need a pro board or bindings and this seems like a good intermediate board. I'm also thinking that the bindings should give some solid support yet still be easy to get in and out of with that hinge system.
Any opinions?

You'll love that package. I have the 2005 version of that same package. Its great, but I wish I had the 2006 Torq bindings, cause the 2005 don't provide quite enough ankle support IMO. _________________ 1998 Moomba Kanga w/ 6' Skylon pylon

Thanks for the input so far.
I'm trying to work up enough nerve to pull the trigger on this package. $420.00 is a LOT of money to drop into a hobby I've only been doing for a month.
Anyone else have any input either good or bad?
I feel like I've already outgrown my $150.00 Hydroslide that I bought a mere month ago. I don't want to be in that position again too quickly. Is this package a solid choice for a next step?
Thanks guys. _________________ Hilton Head Wake Sports.com

HHI Dave, you should be good to go for a few years minimum. That board shape is nothing short of awesome, and the bindings are a great balance between support and comfort.
Start with the OEM skater fin (1.9") and as you progress, just buy shorter fins. It will change the dynamics of this board in a major way. _________________

Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing you mean the '06 Torq hinge bindings, right?

Well, I did it. I just pulled the trigger on that package. Can't wait!
Man, that must be one helluva popular package. I checked with SEVERAL dealers before I finally found it in stock at buywake.com Every other place had it on back order for several weeks. Hopefully it will go out today. I'd love to be riding it by this weekend. Especially since I just got my new JP neo vest today too. Wooo hooo!!!
