I just started wakeboarding last weekend. By the second session I was able to carve turns in the wake, get in and out of the wake easily and lay it out on edge when out of the wake. Very Happy

I wanted to know some tips on where I should go from here. I would like to be able to get some air by the end of the summer. I just got my own board yesterday and hopefully will be going out 2 or 3 days a week over the summer.

I would appreciate any and all help and advice! Confused

Browsing around these forums is a great start. Lots of good tips here. Also I'd recommend getting an instructional video such as "The Book" series to really get you going with proper technique. You'll be jumping in no time.

if you can get used to proper body positioning now it will help you alot. keep your handle low close to your hip not straight out in front of you. Try to get enough weight over your front foot, most people start off riding with WAY too much on their back leg. Start working on some butter slides or surface 180s / 360s...and ride switch as much as you can. Try some ollies. When you're comfortable enough to start jumping just read up on here or other sites about progressive edging technique and just keep working on it. You'll get there.

Thanks for all the info! These forums help a lot in finding out info.

I surf and snow ski. I think the surfing helped with balance and weight distribution when i was up on the board. But again I appreciate any tips!

Congratulations! Here's a link to tricks, etc. that I've found helpful in addition to "The Book" DVD series.
