| Well i read through the forums and i like how people are saying the hyperlite roams a great and fun board to have around. So heres my question, how do you guys like them and is it a fun little board for just messing around on the lake?

| definitely a fun board to have around on the boat for when you want to mix it up a little bit (I use it a little more often than my wakeskate). It definitely won't end up as your primary board, but it is real good to help you learn how to use your rails to initiate edges and to hold your edge. It is also pretty sweet to butter around and do surface tricks. If you have the extra money i would recommend getting this board...

the roam is actually a fun board to ride as an everyday board as well. I rode one for a good chunk of the season last year as my daily ride, and a good friend of mine has been riding one as his daily board for 2 years now.
Here's a pic of him from a month or so ago....
I have another one I took of him Saturday evening on my home computer...i'll post it up later tonight.

..agreed with all that, its a fun board.
Two concerns:
1- The Roam is so buttery smooth on the surface that it kind of screws up your edging on a wakeboard.. at least temporarily. Ive seen some nasty surface faceplants from people getting back on a wakeboard after riding it.
2- They are on backorder from Hyperlite. If you break it, don't plan on getting a replacement anytime soon. I ripped out a binding insert and Ive been waiting for almost 2 months.

Jim M, definitely agree with the first statement... after riding the roam i was back on my premiere and tried to butter back around after a frontside 180 and SMACK, face to water.
Has anyone had any experience riding the two different roams?? If so do the radial sidecuts (snowboard style) on the new model make it ride any different than the first year model?
