i'm going down to dale hollow lake on the 1st and 2nd of july and wanted to know if there are any wakeboarders in this area? where is the best place to wakeboard? i know the place will be packed on the weekend, so i'm not expecting much. i also know that i am passing up cumberland lake to get there, so you can tell me how dumb that is! or should i hit cumberland on friday before i get to the other lake? also, i am trying to find a surfboard to wakesurf(if no flat water)so are there any boardshops in the area and where are they? any help will be appreciated

| I have been there a few times and I don't care if you are there on a weekend or not, you should be able to find decent water. Dale Hollow is sweet and there are a lot of coves that will block the wind for you. I would definitely pass cumberland and go straight to Dale Hollow. I can't really help you with exact spots to ride because I don't know the place that well. Also, I'm pretty sure there are no board shops in that area to rent anything from.

I don't know of any "wakeboard pro shops" on or near the water anymore. A friend of mine owned the last one near the lake that I know of and he shut down about 4 years ago. Most docks at least carry a couple of boards.
But...if you are staying way up the lake on the Obey side, Sunset Dock has a massive on the water sporting goods shop with a limited selection of boards and such, definitely one of the largest on the lake. http://www.sunsetmarina.com
You'll find good water on a holiday weekend, but you will have to look a bit harder during the 10-5 timeframe if you want a hollow all to yourself.

There are a few riders from our area that ride up there...if you look up TNT Water sports (tntwatersports.com) there is a lady there named Sabra that owns a pro-shop up at dale hollow, she might be able to bring some gear our if you're looking to rent.

| I live about 2 miles from Dale Hollow. Me and my friends ride about twice a week and you can always find great watter. What dock are you renting a house boat from anyway. If you want the better watter you need to come down towards the dam.

key_daddy,
I will be at Dale Hollow the first full week of August and we are staying at Cedar Hill which is down by the dam. Where do you suggest to ride? Are there any certain spots you would recommend? When I've been there before, we usually just drove around until we found a good spot. Thanks.

| Yeah i live about 2 miles from that marina. There are some great places to ride in that area. There is a place called Kyles Branch. You can actually see it from the marina you will be at. Also over by the dam there is a hollow actually called Dale Hollow. It is very large and a great place to go aroud 5 or so. If you want the best water though you should go to a place called Mitchell creek. It will be located very close to Livingston boat dock but is now called Mitchell Creek Marina. Just grab you a map when you get there to the marina you are staying at. All of these place are located within 5-10 minutes of Cedar Hill Resort. Go give mitchell creek a try first you will love it. I might come out and watch you guys ride one day or something. Anymore questions just let me know.
