I'm looking for something in the 600cc range such as the Susuki GSX-600.
It will be around a 98 to 01 model. I'm just curious what the insurance per year runs on average. I've heard if you go up to the 750 range, your cost makes a drastic jump.

Thanks for the info

I have a 600 Ninja. I don't remember what I pay but compared to the car, truck and boat it is really quite low ( $20ish / month, full coverage ). If you really need to know I could look it up later. Of course, this will vary greatly due to age, driving record, insurance company, state, ........

hey thanks moblsv. No need to research deeper. I like the sounds of that price. This will be my first, but I have been riding my friends Ninja. I love driving that bike. I'm looking to give my Tow truck a break during the week and commute with the bike..plus, were I am moving, its a riders dream on those back roads. I think Red Bud Trail is one pretty drive, and I will be able to drive it everyday!!!

If your truck is like mine that difference between 12 MPG and 50 will go a long ways toward the insurance.

Hey bud, I don't know if you checked out different insurance company's, but to me state farm has the best price that I have found. I pay $23 a month full coverage for a 1000 with no tickets...Good luck

I've got a 99 CBR600, I pay about $315 a year for full coverage.

Sweet bike. How much would that insurance go up if you're 18 years old? My friend has a Suzuki GS500, but wants to upgrade. He said that his insurance would jump to about 4000 a year. That's almost as much as the bike he wanted to get.

OttoNP, where do you have your insurance through, I checked insurance yesterday for 2000 Ducati 996, Full coverage = 1400/year, I know the bike is more expensive but that seems like to much. I have perfect driving record and have insurance on Ford Expedition and 3000 GT.
That check was through progressive, never used them before, but my insurance Co doesn't cover bikes.

Progressive blows, they estimated 3000 on my bike for full coverage and have been way high an anything I've used them to check. I went through State Farm. I used to have a 3000GT, I think I still have the service manual from Mitsubishi. Among other things I changed the clutch and the timing belt, I miss that car Sad

Here's my rant on Progressive, I don't understand them at all, I have never heard of them being cheaper and everytime I get a quote it's ridiculous. Maybe if you have a bad record or something.

wait. they estimated $3000 a year for the same coverage you're getting for $315 a year? i think some people are probably getting screwed with progressive then.
