Give me the skinny on the Liquid Force "Fish"

A buddy of mine was a dumbo and left his Absolute Plat in the racks of his launch. After it skidded down the interstate he felt the few small scratches meant he needed a new board (seriously it's not that bad amazingly).

So he goes to our local rip-you-a-new-one board shop and a LF rep tells him to ride this. He pulls out a 133 Fish. I thought it was a Marius at first it was so durn big.

I have my reservations about this board. But has anyone ridden one?? Or have any feedback? I am gonna try it out myself. But just wanted to know about it. I know it's continuous rocker so that will be different from my abs plat.

Fun board edges like a wakeskate, explodes off the wake like the old LF SQUIRT did back in the day.

itch, I never rode the Squirt. So is it a big air board, or more of fun, hop around type board?

I bought one last year without demoing (got a good deal) . I was really looking forward to it but was disappointed with it's performance. I rode it 3 times before it broke and I warrantied it and then sold it. (I think it was a fluke thing, I wouldn't worry about it breaking).

I never felt like the pop was that big. It was average but every once in a while it would really toss me. The landings were soft for a board that wide but I couldn't ollie on it for crap because it had less tail.

I rode the marius this year and thought it was awesome. It popped like crazy and landed softer than any board I've ever ridden. The only downside I didn't like was it was super grippy. I like riding a looser board so I decided to go with the Watson which is like the combination of the Substance and the Fish. Anyway, I've been very happy with it. Pops very well and lands very soft (although not as much as the marius).

For your buddy I'd say try them out, find out which one he likes better.

haugy, I rode an '03 absolute plat. for two years before I broke it in half and loved it. I demo'd a fish last year and was a great board.. very fun. I've also rode the new shane and watson early this year. Out of the group I like the shane the best. I got a new absolute ('06) I have yet to ride due to injury.

It is a a SUPER fun board that bucks you up an up an up.
Brad did you give it enough time to really learn to ride the board on edge, I found that like I said it edges like a wakeskate but once you master that it is a great board.
I agree the Marius is a lot more used friendly with the same landings.

I have never had my boards come out of the board racks on the highway. If they can hang in there slamming through double ups, why not down a smooth highway? Did he leave them un-strapped?

Here in Michigan we like to throw our Hyperlite boards in the racks and cruise on the highway with our Coor's lite looking cool.

I've ridden the watson, ps3, last years balance, and I own a 129 fish. I find the fish is as fun as it gets to shred on but it lacks in speed and dedicated edge control. I really like the overall feel, pop, and landings of the fish and after riding the watson and ps3 I am very interested in the shane. I think the shane will be the perfect blend for tech and big booter tricks. Overall, the fish is a love it or leave deck that I will always have in my boat.

chavez, the boy has more money than sense. He was definitely trying to look cool. He'll bring his boards even when we know we aren't gonna ride. He even put his old as hell WakeTech 69 board that is like a friggin surfboard, just to fill up the racks. Rolling Eyes

We leave that for the small town rednecks around here they like to fish in their tin row boats siting on milk crates. While the reserve chills in a home made cooler that is a five gallon bucket with ice. Steel Reserve 99 cents a 20 ouncer.

My cousin rides one, I got to try it out. It has pretty hard landings, even with their spiffed up triple concave hhull or wahtever it has. It is a REALLY fat board, and I cannot say I am a fan of that. Decent board if you can get a deal on it, however I did not think it was worth spending however much money it costs new.

I have the 133 fish an love it.. I rode a Helix forever because I love how loose it felt, one ride of the fish and I switched. But I will say I am not a pro by any means I just think it is a fun board.

the Fish is the one and only board I've ever rode. I bought it based on a few suggetions and the write up basically. I think it edges great, but again, Ive never been on anything else.

Alot of good info above, may have to look into something else soon.

ITCH, i have an old LF SQUIRT that i ride sometimes. but usually i just use my 05 Fish.

ok forget that. i came home from my hockey tournament last night cause i got a concussion. how do you size the file attachment down so it fits?

the thing has a lot of stickers on it. i got it used a couple years ago and it still rides great. lots of pop.

Open it in PAINT then go to IMAGE then to STRETCH AN SKEW while in there just use stretch and make the 100% into 33% go to file and save walla. Now you can post on here.
