It's not about embarassment of what your board is or looks like, it's about how you ride it. I mena I'd rather be able to pull raley's on a plank of wood with straps on it that sruggle to get up with a 06 Parks on.
Liquid Force do some very good gear, and the Hyperlite Motive is also a great beginners board. I'm still a beginner and I ride a CWB Pure, I've tried a few different boards from hyperlite, CWB and O'brien, and I have to say I love my Pure.
You can get the Pure with a Torq bindings package deal. Great deal and if you are not getting hinge tech binddings then goe for Liquid Force ones cos they are the most comfortable.
The obvious thing is not to get a Parks Or Byrley or any board that is designed for riders far beyond your abilities.

Hi there!
I am just starting up on a Liquid Force Trip board and some Ultra Suction bindings.
I think the most important thing is get something that YOU like and are comfortable with. Thats all that really matters!
Have fun!

Ive got a over priced side of the lake boat shop board that is working fine for me so I would just say any board is better then no board. I could of got a lot nicer one if I did some research first but Im a impulse buyer . Go to a shop and find one you think is nice and try to demo it, if you cant demo one then read some reviews. Liquid force, CWB, and Hyperlite all seem to make pretty good entry level boards so maybe look into them. |

I've got a Hydroslide Black Widow that I bought at Boater's World for $150.00. It works just fine for me and I'm getting better with each passing week. I don't need a $500.00 set up just yet.
EDIT: But I did just buy a NEW Liquid Force Free Motion 143 on Ebay. I figured for $61.00 + shipping, I couldn't go wrong. Now I just need to find a good deal on some bindings for it. |
