I'm looking at a CWB Pure 140 w/ torq hinge tech bindings and wanted to know if CWb is a good company that makes good boards. Would you recommend it? _________________ I love the smell of napalm in the morning |

I ride the CWB Pure and it is an awesome board. It has stacks of Pop. You may need some new fins though as it comes with ridiculous 2" fins (I know some people like these but with large moulded channels I do not believe there is much need for 2" fins as well, I have put some .75's on and it feels much better)
Not sure about their bindings though. I haven't ever ridden the hinge techs but I have ripped a pair of CWB Torqs within about two weeks. I also know 3 other people that have also done this. As I said though this was just the old Torqs, they may be better now. |

I ride a pure and I love it, the torqs are great also, REALLY easy to get into and out of but LOADS of hold when the hinge kicks in.
I liked this package so much I bought it, can't say more than that really
Oh and like rocket said change the fins, 2" are too much. |

Rocket,
I think they might have fixed that, because i haven't heard of any problems with any of the new hinge tech bindings. |

Rocket, the old Torq's sucked ass. The new ones are loads better in terms of build quality and fit. _________________

Wakeboarddrumma, chavez, I thought that might be the case but I thought it was worth a mention.
I'd be quite interested to test the Hinge Tech as I have heard good things. |

Rocket, it is worth a mention. I hated all of CWB's old binders. They all sucked IMO.
CWB's new binders... well, the words: "best in the industry" come to mind. They cannot keep them in stock, and are selling them faster than the factory can produce them. _________________

n00b, I tried the bindings on at a peter glenn shop in orlando and once you pop the hinge, your foot is sucked down. I thought someone was giving me a hicky on my foot. Needless to say I liked it _________________ I love the smell of napalm in the morning |

marius is an insane board... lots of pop, soft landings
deus is a good binding, great if you don't like hinge bindings, and super comfy. |

| i just bought my second cwb board (marius) & my first set of bindings (factions). the boards are awesome. the transcend has more pop than any board i've ridden. that includes various lf & hl boards. the marius is the softest landing board ever made. the factions are awesome. they suck you in & really make you one with the board, but are really flexible so you can bone/poke the hell out of some grabs. i would recommend the factions over the torqs. they seem a little nicer and aren't as stiff. plus black bindings rock. |

CWB makes very strong, light, and easy riding boards. I would recommend them over all other board companies. Even when it comes to bindings too. I ride botht he marius and the transcend platinum with the zeus and have absolutely no complaints, the boards are amazing. _________________ Live In Your World, See Through Ours - Fusion X Media |

CWB platinum boards are the sickest out there! Hand Laid carbon fiber, custom flex pattern, etc., etc., etc. And the Zeus W/ Hinge Tech are just totally sick! Also, CWB's customer service is the best I have ever experienced, by far!
I used to be a Liquid Force guy, but now I am totally sold on CWB. _________________ When all is said and done...More will be said than done. |

I've never owned anything else but CWB in the month and a half I've been wakeboarding... hahah! I ride the 2005 Flame and its great.
I have the 2005 Torq bindings (without the hinge) and I have no complaints so far. Not sure which model/year you guys had the problem with, but hopefully I won't have a problem with mine. _________________ 1998 Moomba Kanga w/ 6' Skylon pylon

DaBigKahuna, the Platinum series does not use carbon fiber.
There is a sheet of carbon graphite that keeps the thing together (it wraps the foam). That topsheet is actually a woven mesh fabric that gives a "carbon fiber" like appearance while adding a structural element to the topsheet.
Either way, they are extremely light while remaining very strong. _________________

| CWB is a good company. I have their 2005 Lotus 131 which is a heavy beast but rides okay. Next time I buy a CWB I'll make sure it's not the women's line. I've gone the way of Liquid Force's kids line this year for a lighter ride and then found out that CWB makes a guy's board that's just as light and I could have bought it. Now I have a CWB board bag with the giant-arse CWB on the side of it and a Liquid Force board inside. I've still got the Lotus as a backup board. Slammed it into quite a few things and never had a problem. |

I have loved CWB for the last 6 years. They are a great company who will bend over backwards to make sure you ride their products with a passion. Although I dont share the same downer attitude about the previous binders that chavez does. It was hard to find a pair that fit right, but I believe the quality was there on the ones that I rode in atleast. And they were always trying to innovate them every year, instead of just keep the same idea, but add new colors. All of that showed in the late year of 05 when they unvailed hinge tech. And yes, they are leading the industry right now with their bindings. Take the Factions for a prime example. You release products early when there is high demand for them, and that is what they did.
Bottom line is they are a very solid, clean, and helpfull company. Their boards are top notch, and offer one that will be a perfect match for you. Why settle when you can have the oppurtunity to find the one that is right for you? I give them 3 thumbs up! If you count that one thing as a thumb! _________________

i was like DaBigKahuna but a hyperlite guy
i have heard nothing but great things about CWB and i am thinking about making the switch over to CWB in the near future... It'll probably be at the end of this year so i have the chance to see what Radar Wakeboards will have to offer.. those will be the companies i will most likely choose from _________________ rest easy my friend

Carbon Graphite, Carbon Fiber, whatever! All I know is that it looks sick and no other companies do it.
And as far as how the boards will help you...after way too many years of riding and not progressing, I finally landed my first invert(s) today. Yup, landed the toeside backroll (third time out trying it), and then I landed the trantrum on my second attempt. Both wake-to-wake. I am confident that CWB had an influence on my progression.
For what it is worth, I think CWB is the ShizNet! _________________ When all is said and done...More will be said than done. |

They arent better in terms of performance... Well, at least from what I can tell at my current skill level these days. However, what the plat offers is a hair bit more strength to the core, which will allow the board to be ridden for a longer period of time, or hit sliders with. When I first tried the regular model to the Absolute in 03, I noticed how much bend it had when coming off a two teared slider. This really scared me because I didnt want the board to break in half when sliding. What are the chances of that happinging? More then likely slim to none. But I am a huge pink taco when it comes to safety, so I went with a more rigid board. If I was to purchase one just for wake trick purposes, I would more then likely go with a normal core... Thats just me though. _________________
