|
|
I'm trying to buy a board in the next day or two, but wanted to get a little more knowledge on what to buy. I'm gonna be riding behind a Seadoo RXT waverunner, so I was wondering what a good board would be to get a lot of pop off a small wake? Is there much weight difference between brands? I'm looking in the 300-350 range for board and bindings. Here is one board I came across on wakeside.com: http://www.wakeside.com/page/w/PROD/hyperlite_wakeboards_packages/hyperlite_motive_140_wakeboard_package_06
Also, I didn't realize how much lines and handles cost. Any recommendations on a decent combination that won't break my wallet? |

here is what you need...
a wakeskate
i started behind a seadoo and you will not be able to progress beyond anything you could do off of an ollie because there is no wake at all... if you are considering a boat in the future then by all means get a wakeboard, but if you are set on your seadoo the best thing you could do is buy a wakeskate _________________ finally got my boat!!!

Well I do prefer wakeboarding because of the bindings. I've been snowboarding for so many years and found wakeboarding to be just that, except on water. And a few friends of mine own boats and go boarding a lot, so I'm sure it would get used off a boat as well. Thanks for the heads up, but I think I'm going to stick with the wakeboards for now.
One thing I forgot to mention in my first post, off a PWC whats a good line lenth? I read the standards for boats can be a bit long when used on a PWC. Thanks! |

| if you havent tried a wakeskate yet, id say demo one, they are a ton of fun. i was the same as you, i snowboarded for a while, then wakeboarded. but when i tried a skate i fell in love with it. its worth a demo atleast. otherwise i wouldnt go with that board... i think its continuous, im not sure, you should prolly find a board with a three stage rocker to get more pop, but just to warn you now, you wont have much to get pop off of... my advice, loose the bindings. |

Damn fellas, pass it on over I'll take the hit.
I havn't had much luck finding much of a selection on boards, let alone a place that would let me demo one. And prior to today I've never heard of a wakeskate board. Are there any chain stores that you know of that would allow me to demo one of these boards, or anyone know of a store in Maryland / NoVa area? |

| you relly shouldnt worry about alot of pop with a board behind one of thoes.. just demo as many board and binding combos that are possible before you pay out 700$.. but i would go for the wakeskate too.. just cause theres not much you can do with a wakeboard unless you have rails set up.. but when i ride behind a jet ski i don t even mess with the ''wakes'' that it tries to make.. i just do all ollie tricks like 180s blind 180s, 3s sumtimes if we re going fast enough.. or ill throw something off of a random roller from a boat |

Are you out there on a board or wakeskate?
I'll check out the skates, but I'm pretty definite on getting a wakeboard first. I've read a lot of posts referring to taking boards for a demo, where do you know of that lets you demo boards? Chain stores, local shops? Theres a West Marine down the street from me I'm going to check out tomorrow, does anyone know if they let you try out boards before you buy them?
Also, I've been looking at packages between $300-400 for board & bindings. Any recommendations for a nice package in that price range? |

| deff. on a board.. if it was a skate i would just be doin ollies, 180, and surface tricks... but i doubt west marine will let you demo a board unless your tight with them and they probally would, but i dont know.. try a local board shop.. also i have a 2001 hyperlite Project 142 with either 05 barley bindings or the ones that i got with the board.. i dont know what they are called but there yellow and blue.... ill sell you the board and thoes yellow and blue bindings for 300 + shipping, and ill sell u it with the newer bindings for 475+ shipping, but theres nothing wrong with the board or bindings.. may be a few scratches on it, but nothin big |
