i hate when people say "Do a search", but that'd be my recommendation... there's been a lot of activity on that topic lately...

Couple basic points - yeah, weight is weight... if you bag it in a way it can't leak, it won't create a huge mess... however, if it does leak, sand is the worst thing in the world on carpet - destroys it from the bottom up. Also, there was discussion on if the boat was sinking, there's the boyancy factors... and the biggest one on my mind is that if you want to run a decent amount of wake, you'll probably end up exceeding the weight rating of the boat's trailer (I just had to replace my trailer because the rear support cracked)... so you probably wouldn't want to tow the boat with it stashed away - you'd wanna keep it in the back of the truck and transfer when you hit the water.

Honestly, there's a lot of cheap ways of getting water in a boat... that's what I'd do - old waterbed tubes, fat sacks, etc... that way if you wanna haul a$$ across the lake and save some gas, you can drain the sacs and lighten the load... depends on how much of that you do.
