I have been searching relentlessly for information on inboards that have built in coolers. The only ones that I've found are the Nautiques so far. Am I just missing it on other boats? The ones that really fit into my budget are along the lines of Moomba or Supra. I REALLY like the nautique or an X2, but am not sure I want to bite off that much just yet.

Thanks guys!

Marcus

Malibu has them as well as many others out there.

If Moomba and Supra fit your budget, than so will malibu, centurion, sanger, tige, and more.....most companies have boats that fit into the "budget" range....even MC. Laughing

Hmmm.... interesting information! I thought Supra and Moomba were on the bottom of the price line? I got a quote on a Nautique that I liked that was $60K! I have the B.O in my email but dont know how to post it up on here. Its in Acrobat form. Its a brand new 05 Team model in all white 211. Every option available. I'm going to talk to them some more. Maybe I can get it for $30? hahahahahaha! j/k

I know the Centurion Avalanche has a cooler in the floor of the walkthrough. It drains to the bilge.

heavy drinker? a built in cooler is nice, but certainly nothing to base a decision of which boat to purchase on.

and this is coming from a guy who drinks more than the fish in the river.

Most all Supras and Moombas have built in coolers. The 24SSV actually has 2.

our tige 22ve has a big built in cooler too, but i dont think you should base your decision on a cooler, wake, comfort, build, overall performance.
choose the one that fits your needs and budjet the best then just chuck a cooler in a rear storage trunk

Calabria's Pro V and the new Pro V2 both have built-in coolers. On the Pro V, it's in the floor toward the back, and holds a whole lotta beer and ice Smile, and the V2 has the cooler on the port/stern corner area under the cushions. I think all built-in coolers drain to the bilge, don't they?

My 03 Sanger DLX has on but it is relatively small. I typically just keep a few in there for me and use a large cooler in the back for everyone else.

I wont say how long I've owned a boat but its a looong time. I think my last Nautique had built in coolers that I never used. Our new one has I think three or four. Since it was mentioned soooo many times when we bought our new one, I thought I'd try them out.

Well I miss placed about 18 of my favorite adult beverages for almost a year. Found them right where I left them. I thought it would be a party foul if I wasted the brew I actually drank it. There is A LOT to be said for the "Born On Date" and for a good old fashioned soft shell cooler that sits between the windshield space. Within arms reach, blocks the wind and I never forget it. That and the coolers float to the beach. Cool

the vride cooler is really functional. I beats lugging a cooler around eating up space, unless your camping somewhere on the shore.

yeah - i have that floor cooler in my i/o - but it's too much work to fill... I'd much rather use a portable cooler that I can fill in the kitchen off the ice maker, then take out and stash behind the seat or in a compartment. After the day of boating, if there's anything left, we carry the cooler back into the house, and there we have cold beer to serve while people hang out. We actually use the floor cooler to stash the empties - just have to clean it out every 2 or 3 trips (or after one good day at the river)... I'd be all for one the boats that has a place under one seat for a portable cooler - best of both worlds.

lcap - similar story - got tired of running out of beer and going in search of a marina that was always closed when at the river - so last time out last october I stashed beer everywhere I could fit it... didn't notice 'till I went to charge the battery about a month ago that I'd put a case and some loosies in there... but, rather than drink it myself, I stocked the garage fridge with it, where my friends often drink out of, and I just stuck with the bottled beers that I knew were safe Twisted Evil

The coolers on the 210 are pretty much worthless except for the bow cooler. The one in from of the V-Drive will hold ice for about 30 minutes. The one on the port side holds ice for a little longer, but is not something that is going to keep drinks cold all day or even half the day for that matter. The one up front is good as gold, but it is small and out of the way.

Stand alone coolers are the only way to assure you have frosty cold beverages all day long in my boat.

Where else would they be? Not being smart, just haven't seen them anywhere else.

BIGMAC, I actually have the same issue. The cooler in my 22V is under the observer's seat which is always the first seat taken after the driver's seat. It seems that whether there are 2 people or 10 people on the boat, somebody's sitting on the cooler seat. I think it would've made more sense to put it under the seat immediately behind the driver. It's not a deal-breaker, but I see jamesriver-rider's point. I usually keep a stand-alone cooler behind my seat anyway.

And just like, lcap, I have sodas and beer in my built-in cooler that are almost 24 months old. Sadly, I've come to think of them as keepsakes of days gone by (like July 4, 2004 on Lake Travis) and am reluctant to remove them.

my buddies Vdrive Sanger, we always put a portable cooler in the ski locker next to the motor. noone sits on it, someone gets to sit "beer bitch" and theres plenty of room in there for emptys too. works perfectly fine. and using the coleman helps keep the engine heat from melting the ice.

similar story to lcaps:

we were at my friends property one summer evening, and found a old MGD bottle in a boat that was gutted. i grabbed it jokingly, and eventually got dared to drink it. i agreed, but only after refrigeration. i was told by my buddies cousin it had probably been in there close to a year. the label was sun bleached, and with MGD bottles being clear, it had no protection from the sun. when i finally drank it, it tasted like liquified wheaties, and piss. to this day i have a hard time drinking MGD bottles.

Just bought a Malibu 23 LSV that has a built in cooler. Good size one 2.
But for 70k the Super Air Nautique comes with an Igloo ice chest that you can buy at Walmart.

I have only used the cooler on my Hurricane a few times, it isn't big enough for a whole day but it will keep a few red bulls & a sandwich cool for the day. I say buy the boat you want & then pick out a cooler Very Happy

Most built in boat coolers I've experienced are pretty crappy & don't keep ice frozen for very long.

What would be cool is if boat manufaturers would integrate a working mini-fridge into the boats. They make those portable ones for cars already (I have one in my truck).

Seems like a pretty good idea to put them in boats.

atolman, you can vastly improve your built in coolers with some cheap insulation from Lowes or HD.

We use the hell out of my buddies cooler (Sanger 215). I can't remember the last time we went out and that thing wasn't filled to the brim with adult beverages. Can get a few 18 packs in that bad boy, and the ice doesn't melt horribly fast.

My Toyota has a massive cooler under the observer seat and a glovebox cooler too. They could be better insulated. It's for sale, for 26K, I'll throw in the boat and trailer:)
