|
|
Are toeside 540's the easiest type of off axis spin? I actually had a dream about doing them - and really believe that it is time I gave it a shot. They just look very natural, in terms of what the body would naturally do - in that sort of position.
I have not landed a regular toeside on-axis 540 in a long time, but I have done them. I can not do any other off axis spins. The off axis variant looks very different though - so much so that it may not even make much sense as a "prerequisite" for the move.
Any info you can provide would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Erik |

I think that a switch hs fs off 180 is the easiest, that way you land in your reg position and there is no handle pass. but I would say a ts off 5 is easier than a hs off 3. _________________ Random Acts Of Dumbness Will Always Be Rewarded. |

I love doing hs OA 3s on the tramp. I think I'm going to try one this summer. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

Erik, when I was trying to learn them at TWC a few years ago, they said the secret was to really push that handle down low to throw you O/A when you pop off the wake.
I haven't yet landed one either, but it's one trick I'd really like to pick up this summer. _________________ wakeboards

Erik Jernberg, IMO --- YES!!!!
Wakebrad, I'm with you on that. I like how it feels like you are not going to come around but once the handle is in the other hand you just fall into place.
It just feel like slo motion.
Probly the reason I love HS BS 180 off the d-up so much....slow motion _________________ PEACE

Ian_82, ts 3's are definitely not the easiest spin on the water, they're harder than both hs bs and fs 3's in most peoples opinion.
i would say that off axis hs 3's are easier than ts OA 5's but i have yet to try ts OA spins
also, is there a such thing as an off axis 180? i thought it's just called a drifting 180... |

it is the eaiset to get this move consistant if you do not use the scare crow-style pop off the wake. it will help you get o/a, but the handle will be very tight and hard to grab. you can still dig your edge into the wake like a crow, but dont pop out the back, rather punch into the wake hard on your front to get upward pop w/o the line tension. then pull the handle in but low, as if to sit on the handle. keep it in close around to ur new front hip and edge out,. _________________ Mark Kenney, 1983-2002
