|
|
O.K., here's my thoughts, I can get soild pop on my heelside edge. I was thinking of just doing a big HS jump, squaring my shoulders up a bit in the air and sucking my knees to my chest, grabbing indy, and look back. Will this work? I know the typical trip flip tantrum is what most people do, but I am trying to get a big, lofty indy grab tantrum, which later I can try to land blind with.
Thanks! _________________ When all is said and done...More will be said than done. |

| It really isn't going to work unless you use the "trip". You can still get a "big, lofty indy grab tantrum" by tripping. |

DaBigKahuna, you can go that rout it's just harder to keep the handle in tight cuz when you don't square up the boat is constantly pulling you out of the trick... making it harder to grab and flip...
This method requires much more precise timing IMO.
You would be doing a Indy FRANTRUM! only a wake geek like myself would even know the dif. so it's all good.

I was under the impression that big tanies were done by executing a really quick edge change at the top of the wake and taking it up instead of out. I have never heard of someone not using the trip to initiate the flip. Have you done a tantrum yet, or are you just trying to go big? _________________ "I know violence isn't the answer, I got it wrong on purpose." |

| J_DOGG, isn't a framtrum just a tantrum with two hands, not a tantrum without the trip edge as I think you were implying? |

how the hell do u cross a tantrum (back flip) with a front flip? you can't cross opposites, numbnuts. it's like crossing a Great Dane with a chihuahua. it just doesn't happen. do you HEAR to yourself talk? I might kill you tonight. |

I thought that as well and that was the image I had in my head when he said we was not going to trip but stip try to flip.
So yeah, like a half Tantrum Frontfilp....
or a HS Front that looks like you are getting pulled out of it the entire way... _________________ PEACE

OMG, you're hilarious ...first of all if you knew absolutely anything about wakeboarding, you'd know that a frontflip is relatively the same as a side flip on a tramp, not a front. Before you start insulting people with your awesome jokes why dont you make sure you know what you're talking about first. Oh, and if you get the chance, could you show me how to do some of those awesome tricks you have in your myspace photos |

hey jackass why dont you think before you talk. if you dont know anything about wakeboarding, which you obviously don't, then don't bash other people when they're right. A hs front flip on a wakeboard isn't the same as a true front flip on a trampoline. a tantrum and a front flip CAN be mixed together you fukcing idiot so stop being a poser acting like you know it all |

i was at a BYT stop and nunn was coaching me on a hs frontflip and he said the same thing as Craig-R, a frantrum is a tantrum/front flip mix. with a tantrum, your shoulder-line is perpendicular to the back of the boat and squared with the wake. with a frontflip, your shoulders are squared up with the rear of the boat. if you go to do a front flip and your shoulders aren't lined up with either of them, like at a 45 deg. angle to the boat, thats a frantrum.
hyyperlitesonofabitch, you're fired. |

ok well ohiowake just did a perfect job of explaining it for me, so i won't but im not the one saying you might just come and kill me because you're so arrogant that you think you're right, even though you can barely jump the wake. and that olympics diss was funny the first 50 times i heard it, but not so much anymore |

| oh my god so i was wrong get over it. i thought u were trying to cross a back flip with a front flip--like the rotations of the flips, not the setup. i was wrong ok? craig is bashing me (or trying to) on TWO different forums. is that not excessive? i'm not fired, i quit. but craig is still being gay running around LOOKING for a problem. craig if i admit i'm wrong will you shut the FUKC UP? and the killing thing was from family guy; it was a joke. get over it. |

If you let go with your back hand going up the wake, you wind up with a trip flip anyway. You don't conciously have to change edges to get it.... the board will change directions when you let go with one hand.
If you want to land blind eventually, you really should focus on doing a correct trip flip. The more you square your shoulders, the less tension there will be on the line in the air, allowing you to pull the rope easier for a whirly or a blind lading.
Both the tuck and layout tantrums rely on a trip flip.
You should be able to do a tantrum with a late fs 180(layout), a tantrum to blind(layout), an indy tantrum(tuck), and an indy tantrum with a late fs 180(tuck) on a regular basis before trying a tantrum indy to blind. |
