Last time I took my boat out the stereo played for two minutes or so then quite? I have a Kenwood CD player am/fm with a detachable faceplate. I took off the faceplate and there is a weird noise coming from the speakers from time to time? It’s kind of a hum and static sound? I went to the back of the stereo and checked the fuse, just one #10, it looked fine. I have no power to the stereo with the fuse in. All of the other electrical in the boat works just fine.

Thanks for your help!

At what point should I check the ground wire? Where it goes into the stereo or some other area?

it probably goes to a grounding block under the dash... and ultimately back to the battery. also check both power leads - there should be one for the memory lead and one to the accessory switch (many people wire these together, but you lose your memory and settings every time you turn it off).

Thanks. I will check both the ground and lead wires at both points.
