Ok i have been riding for around 3 years now and i really suck. I cant seem to get any better so im going to try to figure out what the hell my problem is. I think that maybe when i edge in my posture is bad? maybe? I dont bend down like im sitting i a chair, i lean back at my waist if you can get an idea. I push my waist out and my shoulders go back and im sure thats really bad. And another thing i read that when you jump you need your hips out in front of you. If you could explain that it would be cool to. Thanks for any help.

Oh yeah if you are ever down at Dale Hallow Lake stop in and give me some lessons Razz

Carve around and learn the edge of the board. Take the fins off and it will force you to ride the edge of the board.

Not knowing really where you are at I would say.
Handle in low and to the hips, think about pushing it down off the wake.
Take little pokes at the wake while keeping two hands on the handle at ALL TIMES!
You will go up higher than you have ever been before, trust me.
Don't worry about clearing the wake, you want to feel the pop up and keep in a balanced position, two hands on the handle will do this.

Every Wally I see charges into the wake, releases off the wake after flattening out and then lets go with the back hand.....
WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!!
Don't be a Wally!~

Yes i was going to take the fins off of my board but i thought that it would make it very hard to land. Any truth to that?

yes, it will be harder to control landings without fins, but it also teaches you to land then keep edging in the direction you are going, which is fundamental. wakeboarding is about edge against the boat: edge in for big pop/air and edge out to control BIG landings (a direct effect of step 1) easier.

hyperlitesonofabitch, man I hate it when ppl say that Laughing Then again there's always the BIG injuries..

key_daddy, As soon as you have all your edging down, try going wake to wake. The key is technique so focus on using proper edging into the wake.

yes but broken bones heal. but I'd feel better in the hospital than in the boat at the end of the day disapointed.

I think that is stupid. So you had rather be in the hospital with screws and stuff in your broken leg then be let down by not landing a trick? I bet if you ever do break your leg you will take that silly phrase back...

key_daddy hips out in front of you = stick out your belly and lean back w/ you shoulders against the rope to creat tension. You need the push of the wake to shoot you up in the air and if you back is not straight then it absorbs most of the energy from the wake like a supension in your car.
