| The syn is a pretty sweet board...its the same shape as the Era which is a pro model its just sweet and pink and made for the girls. At the shop i work at we usually hook up the syn with the noise boots cuz thats what looks the best and the noise are the best womens boot....you cant go wrong with ether the syn or the blur.

it's not all about matching. it's about what you like and what you feel is comfortable. i don't know anything about the girls' boards, so sorry that i can't help you out there.

Here comes the Wakeboard fasion show again.
You should ride a board and bindings that suites your RIDING style or at the very least one that you feel comfortable on, regardless of what it looks like. I would rather ride a non matching board and throw down behind the boat than look like a tool and fight my way to do anything with the wake.
As far as gils boards go, they used to be previous year mens molds with different graphics but with the progression of the womens side of the sport they, are the usually the same boards with different graphics now and sometimes offered in another size smaller.

| womens boards are different dude.... and i would really rather have the best board and boot because that makes sense now doesnt it? its not like i can really try out alot of stuff first because i live in northern mn and there are like 5 ppl that wakeboard here.... so yea.... and the noise boots are the best too..... i wanted the blur because i have an older board that has the 2 fins and i dont like the way it rides and my bro got a new board last year that has the 4 fins and i like that even tho i cant really ride his because he has very big feet and i dont really fit into his boot....what do you guys think about the fins... 2 as opposed to 4?

We put the eras on the board because they are good for smaller feet and she liked the way the eras fit, it was not all about fashion they just happen to match really well.
We got the 05s because they were alot cheaper and the 06s did not seem any different, if the only thing that changed was the color why waste the money

| the eras are still men's boots tho.... womens boots are more suited for smaller feet and for women in general since we ride differently than men

| still those are mens boots... and if any of this was about fashion at all... the noises would look better..... the noises were made for the blur with a more aggressive approach..... they only have 3 kinds of womens boots and the rest are mens and those are made for the way men ride...... they ride differently than most women...

shae_lynn08 Don't buy into what the brochure says, there isn't a difference between mens/womens gear.

I think this is how they relate.
Blur = Drive
SYN = Era
Eden = 3DS
Divine = Motive
Angel = Team
Diva = Stance or old Evo
Star = Nemesis
The Cadence may be its own board.
Bindings are different to an extent. Some have narower footbeds but most are just smaller sized.

| yea thats almost it... except putting the drive boot on the blur is putting a men's boot on a womens board... the noise is the woman's version of the drive.... and the noise was made the blur and syn boards because of the "new female flex pattern"... and thats from their website.... so yes women's equipment is different than mens

I think there are some differences between men and women equipment... but not that much for it to matter. I got the cadence because i liked the way it rode, but I kept my transits (men boot) because I LOVE THEM! I couldve gone with the LF Minx (girl boot) but even though they are way comfortable, I liked my transits best.
I think get the board and bindings you feel comfortable in, regardless of what it looks like or if it doesnt match. Sure, its great to have a matching combo, but its best to be riding comfortably and well. I also dont have places to demo here so I have to buy according to what other people tell me.
My first board was a state 125, I couldve gotten the eden which is the female version but it had super ugly graphics and the state only had ugly graphics, so i went with the less ugly, but it was the board i needed so it wouldnt have mattered anyway if I'd had had to get the super ugly one.
As for bindings i dont care much about HL's, even though I havent tried the murrays or the 3ds, but I've tried most of the others. I would def say that the Eras are better than the Noise. The Noise look pretty are made for women, but I didnt like them. Got to ride them yesterday and i think they lack support in the ankle area. They are a bit narrower so that may be the girly thing with the binding.
Buy based on your riding needs, not your fashion needs

| you people enough with the fashion..... i'm not about the fashion.... i'm about putting the best boot on the best board...... and putting a mens boot on a womens board is pretty much pointless..... get a mens board if you're going to do that..... for womens boots they have a different flex pattern so they might just feel weird at first but in the end i'm willing to bet they let you ride BETTER.... if they didnt then why would hyperlite have their engineers waste time developing something like that?... i've ridden mens boards with mens boots ever since i started because my bro and i shared... now i just use one of our old boards because his boots on his new board are too big for me... i rode on a divine with edens..... and i rode much better..... i also did try my bros board and i still rode better on the womens set up..... so it pretty much depends on the rider but really why would hyperlite waste money on engineers that probably take a while to come up with this stuff to have womens and mens equipment be the same? and for the last time.... for me its NOT about fashion... its about the best set up i can possibly get

shae_lynn08, Seriously listen to what you are saying.

Because they didn't. they engineered once and changed the colors, them marketing took over and has appearantly workd on you.
They are the same with the exception of a few isolated cases.

shae_lynn08 It may as well be about fashion, because your argument regarding "different flex" pattern is just about as pointless as trying to get all matchy matchy. But, I digress there's nowhere this argument will go with a 16 year old female.
ps wakeboard companies don't make enough money to have engineers determine a woman's flex pattern, but they do have the creativity to list it in a brochure or website so you can think you are getting product catered to you specifically. Congratulations, you are a marketers wet dream.

| if ur right buddy then its false advertisement and you can go ahead and sue their asses... but if you honestly think that womens and mens equipment rides the same than you are sadly mistaken.. i know this because i have ridden both and i rode the womens setup before i came on the net and researched it so if you are stupid enough to think that women and mens equipment are the same than you can just keep on believing that

shae_lynn08, if you know so much, why are you asking?
What everyone has said is the truth. It's not false advertising, it's just marketing to a different demographic. Nothing more, nothing less. The arguement about 05 boots on an 06 board is ridiculous. Companies generally only change graphics every year on their boards, and change the actual board every 3 years or so. Same with boots, but maybe every other year. My Parks bindings were the exact same, but with different colors 3 straight year. Why would I pay more for the newer binding?
Oh yeah - BURN!!!!! on jryoung!!!
