I decided to take up wakeskating because my dad is a skier and doesnt want to add ballast and crap to our boat and i live on the lake . so i have a boat and a pwc . and i can wakeboard behind wakeboard boats on weekends . But on the weekdays i want to wakeskate . I went wake skating last weekend and it was AWESOME . since im going to be wake skateing every day i dont want a "beginners board " because im trying to save money and want something that is gonna last and that i can progress on . I did some research and found the LF 05 milissa for 89$ And thought that would be a good board for me cause it was cheap and i have always liked Lf . But i dont really care about Brands or graphics and crap , i jus want a good board for me at a good price . So should i go with the Lf milissa or can somebody suggest something else .
Thank you

If you're really planning on skating for a while, get an integrity.
Yes, it's a little more expensive, but it will last virtually forever; could be the last skate you will ever buy.

There are definitely some decent wood decks out there for much less $$$ (like the LF), but they will fall apart after a few dozen rides. We got tired of taking our wood decks back to the shop for warrany, so we finally broke down & got the integ. Wish we would have just done that in the first place.

i would get the melissa since its so cheap. its a good board, and it will give you a chance to see how you really feel about wakeskating all the time. if it turns out that you like to skate then you can think about picking up another board if you want.

Here's our experience with wood skates:
1st board; '04 Hyperlite Scape 116 - de-lammed after about 6 rides
2nd; '05 LF Impulse 43 - de-lammed after about 10 rides
-replaced via warranty with-
3rd; ' 05 LF Impulse 41 - de-lammed after 2 rides
-replaced via warranty with -
4th; '06 LF Impulse 41 - have ridden 3 times; cracks are starting to show.

Obviously, our local shop has taken good care of us with all of the warranty replacements, but they said the '06 replacement will be the last, explaining that all wood decks will come apart sooner or later. (I'm tired of taking cracked skates back to them anyway.) If you do some searching on wakeskating.com, you will see many similar reports on LF wood decks.

so far my 05 LF skate looks brand new after I have ridden it about 30 times already this season, foam is fine, graphics/paint are fine. I am not sure how you think they will fall apart after 12 rides??
