|
|
Hey guys, this is my first year wakeboarding and I am having a little trouble doing a 180... I can ride switch pretty well..(starting to learn to W2W switch), I clear the wake everytime with plenty of height, and I have done a W2W 360 (HS) a couple times but I cant seem to land the W2W 180s. When ever I try I either get pulled forwards fast and hard or my feet totally slip out from under me. I want to complete this before I try to nail the 360s. Is it a mental block or are there any tips that yall can give me? Any Help would be awesome.
Many Thanks,
Mark |

| 180s are fairly simple start small then get bigger. whati mean is dont do a w2w jump to switch just catch a small amount of air and do the 180, get used to the feel of landing then go bigger. and face the baot dont look down when landing. |

| start small, dude. try ollie 180's, then move to switch ollie 180's. then small jump 180's (reg and switch) and finally go bigger and bigger with those until u get comfortable enough to clear the wake. that's how I did it. peace. |

| I highly reccomend doing a wake to wake 180 at a shorter length like 45-55 feet before you try and go to bigger lengths such as 60ft+ |

| One thing that helped me tremendously with my W2W 180's was focusing on not looking down any time after popping off the wake. As all the expert advice says, keep your eyes straight ahead toward the direction you're jumping. Also be sure you're not under-rotating. On landing, try to get the tip of the board pointing as close to perpendicular to the wake as you can. If you land with the tip pointing toward the boat, the board will slide out every time. |

| TP83, i can't think of any time that you really want to look at the boat while landing. if it's a toeside 180 i can understand but if it's a heelside 180 then you definitely don't want to look at the boat, you want to look away from it towards the horizon and keep edging upon landing |

$0.02:
toeside 1s are probably easier to learn simply because you get to land healside. |

HS FS 180: you may be losing your body position if you are trying to twist your body off of the top of the wake instead of letting your body naturally turn. my advice is to cut the same as you would for a w2w jump, keep the handle close to your hips, and let go with your lead hand once you are up in the air. the cross body pull you get from the boat will automatically turn you so don't try and force anything with your legs or you might pull yourself off axis. just focus on keeping line tension and letting go with your lead hand once you are at the peak of your w2w jump.
i think TS FS 180s are the easiest to learn w2w. all you have to do is move the handle from your lead hip to your rear hip once you get airborne and you will automatically turn the 180. for TS keep both of your hands on the handle. good luck! |

| either start small with big expectations or start big with zero progress. top of my head. sorry. I'm not a poet. I'm gonna go now. moral= ollies to small jumps to W2W. no other way is smart. take ur time. |
