Need help on my HS Backroll (with video)

Hi riders,

This is my closest to landing a HS BR- my problem has always been under rotate and lack of high.

Please comment on what I did wrong in this video.

I noticed that you let off your edge as you came up to the wake...that would be part of the height problem. it looked like you almost had it though...

Pause the vidso when you are at the top of the wake. Your board is dead flat, you should be on edge at the top of the wake. It also looks like maybe you are starting the rotation a bit early (not much, but enough to lose the height), wait until you hit the top of the wake to start the rotation.

Having said that you are all the way round just not quite landing it. Try and keep the handle up and nearer your waist. If you look where the handle is when you land it is down by your ankles, this will always pull you over. If you get round that well and land that smoothly with the handle up by your waist you will be able to ride away.

Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna try it out this sat. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

i agree with Rocket, you need to keep the edge all the way through the wake for a good backroll. everything looks good, but you will thank yourself if you edge through the wake. you will probably have a little more height doing so and will also speed the rotation a little bit. good luck.

Your loading really early then letting off and you dont have any line tension finishing the trick. So start out wider and be more progressive. Load at the wake hard and bone out your back leg and you got it. Looks good other than that though. Goodluck.

I finally landed it on last Sat!Yeah Very Happy

I landed 2 on a same day, but then none on the next day Sad

My timing now is way better. I'm now poping it as if I were poping a 2W jump and it helps a lot. My edging is fine, but I still try to throw myself up to the wake instead of edging in through the way so I still have problem on the height.

fyi if you straighten your body position out you'll get more height. once you get that down bust out an r2r...i think they're easier than a backroll.
