Looks like your line is pretty slack as you're jumping. If you know the Progressive Edge technique, keep using it, and make sure the line is tight. If not, then do a search for "Progressive Edge"

get a tower, dude. it'll help pop, air time, height, and shorten the rope to a better part of the wake. focus on pop, not getting oover the wake.

he doesnt even need a tower tho it looks better but get a 10 ft pole cheaper and it will give you tons more pop. try not to put slak in your line when your going off the wake.

Hey man were was that taken at? Wouldnt by any chance be down the mouth of Pea Hill Creek in Lake Gaston would it? Ive got a house right on the other side of the Pea Hill Creek bridge on Gaston and it looks exactly like that when your looking past the island back at the bridge so I was wondering if that might be it?

No actually Ive been looking around in this forum for trick advice. I hadnt posted anything yet but then I saw this and wondered how much is enough air too so I clicked on it. Living ,almost, on gaston my whole life I knew that the background looked just like the lake in a part im very familiar with. Nice to meet you too I see your the jackass of the sport. Theres always one badass in every crowd. Im just starting out in this sport and had a question about a lake that I go to every weekend so you decide to jump on me, o yea your a real cool kid. Besides what does it matter where I make my first post. I love people who just try to start crap. Your ignorance makes me laugh sir. Haha

now, Ill give the thread back but my question still stands is that on gaston tbl?

haha this topic has turned into a bunch of newbs giving newbs useless advice...BigMace255, and jkeubanks, are the only people who have givin some what decent advice, tbl, for the record it looks like your sucking you legs to your chest. You need to concentrate on extending your legs at the wake and standing tall and be sure you edge through the wake. Also keep both hands on the handle. To answer your question though you could quite easily throw a backroll off that wake.

it's west point lake. not gaston.

well we bought a spectra rope just a couple of days ago and i was getting a lot more pop. i also just started standing tall at the wake, and from what I heard I was getting at least a foot or two higher than normal. so thanks for the advice guys.

haven't tried the tantrum or a backroll yet.

i think i'm getting to ride behind a malibu soon instead of a ranger though.

nevermind, I found it at Buywake.com... so I'm guessing I want a spectra line as opposed to a spectra coated or are they the same?

alright so heres my problem, when i try to get air i edge hard out on my toes--then i cut back hard on my heels towards the wake, trying to get some speed and also trying to load the line with tension--then when i hit the wake i get like 4 ft. of air and dont even clear the wake,,,SUCKS,,,

now My excuse for the above is that i am riding behind a "Crestliner 1850 sportfish" with the roop hooked onto the little ring in the back,(try googling this boat so you know what im talking about), ive got a good spectra roop and a nice board, sooo thats not the problem,,, its me

now dont just say "do ur progresssive edge" cus i have no idea what that is EXPLAIN!! thanks

o yah and how much would putting a tower on the back of my crestliner help my hang time? do u Know?
