Ok, time to mount the 4 channel, but I don't know where. I have a 95 Mariah 20 ft. I don't think it is possible to mount it on either driver or passenger side kick panels because the other side of the panel is the storage area, and we have taken water over the bow a few times. Can I mount it in one of the compartments under the hatch. It is kinda sectioned off into 3 parts, the middle being the engine. I am worried about overheating and things getting wet though?? I could build a box with fans? Basically....HELP PLEASE!!

Pictures of various areas in yoru boat woudl help a ton. What kind of amp? Does it have fans built in?

I can't get pics until this weekend, it is an old blue MOSFET(sp?) sony amp that is probably 7 years old, and I believe it has a fan. I think the amp is 50x4, I can give more details tonight.

You've taken water over the bow in an I/O 
Most I/O's have sides much higher than an inboard. I've tried like hell to get water to come over the bow in mine, it just won't do it.

| if it isnt a marine amp ,, i might not go through the trouble of installing it . In a boat , obviously water , even just condensation in a boat can kill a non marine amp . Plus the vibration is hard on a non coated pc board . |

I can do it - if I'm coming back around to pick up someone who's down, and let off the throttle as I'm going into the waves, I can bury the nose...
In mine, I have a board that I mounted up under the passenger side, basically behind the glove-box against the wall that basically serves as the backrest for the bow. It's up high enough that I don't have to worry about much. |

Actually the majority of amps installed in boats are not marine amps, I already did the install and I mounted it in the hatch area, it stays dry and is decently vented so I shouldn't have a problem. The amp has a fan built in as well, I'll post pics of everything soon. As for taking water in the bow it used to happen a lot when my friends had to execute a power turn due to safety issues.
