has anyone had any experience with these? i know they are made for kiteboarding, but i love the flex of the shanes and the open toes on the watsons and these seem like the best of both worlds. any opinions?

They are the same as the Watsons
From LF:
WATSON BOOT
...We answered with the heat moldable Liquid LinerTM…a multi dimensional, tri-density liner that was designed to wrap up and around the foot, ankle, and lower leg and give unimaginable support. “L” shaped heel kidneys create a heel pocket with extraordinary hold down. This unique liner has solid support and hold that Watson craves yet is unbelievably easy to get in and out of. The tongue opens wide enough to slide your foot in with ease while the elastic flap insures quick closure. Watson’s outer boot is the stiffest in the line working with the Pro-plate to bring you the lightest and most responsive system available. The amazing support, performance and comfort are definitely good enough to have Shawn Watson’s name on it.
ESCALADEBINDING
...We came up with the heat moldable Liquid Liner TM...which is a multi dimensional, tri-density liner that was designed to wrap up and around the foot, and ankle to give the rider unimaginable support. We also used “L” shaped heel kidneys to create a heel pocket with extraordinary hold down. The tongue opens wide enough to slide your foot in with ease while the elastic flap insures quick closure. The outer boots stiffness works in conjunction with the Pro-plate to bring you the lightest and most responsive binding system available.

| jryoung, it also says almost the same thing about the shanes and they are nothing like the watsons, lower...more flex...etc. i believe that LF was just talkin about their liquid liners being used in both boots. does anyone have any actual experience with these? or has anyone even seen them up close?

When all else fails look at the pictures. The smart business decision would be to market the same boot twice. Especially for a company that doesn't make a lot of money.

Well, they only have one area where you can lace up. And, how do you know that they are like the shanes. They could be exactly like the watsons, with the graphics of the shanes, or they could be completely different than either one of them.

Stewie, Yea, if you look closely at the Escalades you'll notice that they lace up just like shoes, which leads me to believe that they would be a little more loose than a wake boot. Maybe thats because kiter's dont take really hard falls and dont really need that extra support? I would imagine that you would be able to cinch them up pretty tight though, I dunno. I like them though, they look better than the Shanes or Watsons in my opinion...

RufioSwashbuckle, the dual-lace system is pretty new, before there were many boots that laced up with one lace like a shoe.

PraisinPlaya, i tried on the shanes, and watsons today, and they are the xactsame except for the closed toe. Same flex, same feel.

| it would be extremely easy to change from single lace to dual lace - just order the parts from LF and put a set in the bottom half and a set in the top half

If you look at the kiteboards from LF you can see that the inserts in the board are different. Would this not be a problem when you would try to put kiteboard bindings on a wakeboard ?

yea and besides i bought my shanes locally at a shop sale for $280 plus its better to buy something that you can easily return or trade for another at a local shop and that was built for your sport ,wakeboarding..
if i had my choice i wouldnt have bought the shanes do to the white and gold but i like the ride a lot so i bought them..if they feel and ride like the watsons then go for the nice looking black watsons..
