Hey guys. I dunno what happened between last summer and now, but i can't do grabs with my front hand any more. Whenever i let go of the handle with my front hand, i feel like my board is starting to spin frontside a little bit.
I though it would be because i'm pulling on the handle too much with my back hand, but i really focused on not moving my back arm at all after hitting the wake, but i still spin for some reason. I now just end up crashing or landing really weird after letting go with my front hand.
Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions for what I'm doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. _________________ "What? When did the ballast break? Where's some fat chicks when you need them?" |

what kind of grab are you trying to do with your front hand? I mean if you are grabbing melon or method or something it may be throwing you off cause your reaching behind you to grab. Try just grabbing on your toeside edge with your lead hand till you get your bearings back _________________ It is better to be thought a fool, then to speak and remove all doubt. |

| Ive never liked front hand grabs because of that reason. If im just doing a plain grab its always rear hand. I only grab front hand when im spinning FS. Just try to concentrate on bringing the board to you and not reaching for it instead. |

Any sort of front hand grab throws me way off balance. I can't even jump and take my front hand off the handle, or i feel like i'm spinning a little bit. _________________ "What? When did the ballast break? Where's some fat chicks when you need them?" |

personally i love the front hand grabs...cuttin in n boning out a nice slob grab beats all for me...when i'm in the air i just focus on keeping the rode to the center of my body or even to my left side (i'm regular)....i don't really think about it...but looking back as long as my back hand wasn't behind me somewhat i didn't start rotating. I can see some problem reaching for a melon grab since u have to open your shoulders up somewhat but with the handle forward it shouldn't be a big deal. _________________ Smile at the hotties on the boat...Huck ur new trick...Nail it and they'll think ur Wicked..and even if u bail they can soothe u afterwards:D...

yeah, i think next time i head out, i'm gonna focuse on keeping my back hand holding the rope more to my left side. (I ride regular). It seems like this would prevent me from rotating the way i do. I'm just not sure how i managed to pick up this habit between last summer and now. weird. _________________ "What? When did the ballast break? Where's some fat chicks when you need them?" |

I didn't like to do them either for the same reason. But after I got grab 180's and 360's, I could control the board much easier, and it made front hand grabs so much easier to control. I agree with brath5. A melen with your front leg boned out, a big method, or a mute with your back leg boned out feel and look so much better than back hand grabs. _________________ www.munsonski.com

Make sure the handle is in close to your body. If you are letting it out and your arm is extended, when you take your front hand off your board will start to a spin a bit. However if it (the handle) is close in to your lead hip you shouldn't have that problem. _________________ If the minimum wasn't acceptable it wouldn't be called the minimum. |
