What exactly does it mean to "edge through the wake?"

When you stand tall your board flattens, and you lose the edge, and the pop?

Is this correct, or is my concept of edge just wrong... And edge is just your speed and line tension?

no, to edge through the wake reffers to not easing off on your progressive edge when you get to the wake. when you get to the wake, keep your edge and stand a little bit taller. it will help you a lot.

thats just me

I'm trying to make it wake to wake and i can get kinda close but not very high. This is my first summer ever wakeboarding and I'm still learning the easy tricks. My friends tell me i should ollie off the wake in order to get more air and farther. How do i ollie and still keep an edge?

man i have been asking the same question and the key is line tension the more you have the high you go. dont ollie (ollie is when you push down the back of your board and you get pop this will make you loose tension on the line) so try keep line tension everybody has a different approach

some pro will pull the rope to him at the peak and get alot of pop

but if you find out anything else write it i would like to know

the problem with ollieing is it absorbs the wake.

keep the rope in and at the hips, and hold your edge. stand tall, which really means just straighten out the legs a bit. like a flat footed jump.

Yeah, trying to jump off the wake defeats the whole purpose of your progressive edge.... Cut in hard and hold your edge all the way in, building line tension the whole way, then just stand tall when you get half way up the wake, you should really fly
