So I'm looking for some good up-beat power pop-ish type songs for the upcoming season. Maybe some stuff like Jerk it Out by The Caesars... that's my ultimate favorite song to wakeboard to... sooo... any ideas?

Taste in music aside, I find it hard to see people getting pumped or wakeboarding to anything pop-ish. *EDIT* Just listened to Jerk it Out. I can see that being played to ride behind. Not bad. Nice, flowing style. The music I'm recommending is radically different.
This probably won't be your style, but try a few of these out, if you care to:
(all Band names)
Rage Against the Machine
Audioslave
Linkin Park
Fort Minor
Static X
Foo Fighters
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Particle
If you're into the whole flowy, relaxed feel while you ride (rather than real pump-up), I've got loads of good jam suggestions:
Phish
Umphrey's McGee
Victor Wooten
Warren Haynes
Gov't Mule
Incubus
Allman Brothers Band _________________ People should not be afraid of their governments.

I personally like songs that i've heard in wakeboarding videos, becuase anytime i hear those songs, I think of whoever rode in that section, which gets me pumped. I also like songs that i've never heard in a video, but could deffinately be a good song to put in a video. _________________ www.munsonski.com

BigMace255, btw i think power pop was a bad way to explain what i'm looking for just good pump up songs with a flowy feel is what i'm looking for... not like backstreet boys haha... that's what i think of when i think pop... bleh... more like...
hot hot heat
the caesars
franz ferdinand
panic! at the disco
hellogoodbye
the sun
that sorta stuff is my style...
ashley.

If you want something different with great beats check out "Gnarls Barkley" the released a single called Crazy, but the whole album is great. It's C-lo, and a DJ called Danger Mouse. Check it out. _________________ Saint Ignace Clothing Co.

you should go out and buy yourself a Wakeboard DVD or borrow a friends. Its amazing how watching a rider you admire will influence how you like the song that they huck too.
One song thats not too hard, yet pumps you up is the song from Byerly's session in the movie Counterfeit this. Awsome song, but i cant remember the name. _________________ "Your tomorrow may never come" -Mike Ness |

I've gotta admit... I can't stop listening to ska, but metal and anything else fast gets me stoked.
Sublime, Norma Jean, Alexisonfire (their older stuff), A Billion Ernies, AFI, The Fall of Troy... That's pretty much all that's in the boat CD
A buddy of mine only listens to europop _________________

There is nothing out there that will get you more pumped to ride than Rage Against The Machine. And like dude said, Gnarls Barkley is a little different, but I could def see riding to it. _________________ www.shadrack.com -This house is about to get freaky sleeping in! |

ive seen dudes cruising around in wake boats cranking michael Jackson.
we usually sit on the water and play a myriad of songs. anything from pop punk, to screamo, to hardcore metal, to 70 and 80's buttrock, and hip hop to gangsta rap. and even some country thrown in. sometimes its fun to listen to lame songs to be funny, and sometimes you just wanna hear a good song. as far as riding, well, havent had a chance to get on the water yet, waters still a bit chilly, and this is the first year ive gotten to be on a boat with tower speakers. should be nice.
also, Panic! At The Disco is really growing on me. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/muxpux

If you are into chill music, definatly check out Pinback, like someone has already mentioned. They get me in the mood to ride as well as some good classis Van Halen, Motley Crue, and other butt rock. But Pinback for sure. _________________ Charge It
